  1. Had I noticed earlier that would have been a good idea.
  2. I'm a bit disappointed the decals size does not match the mold on the body. Trust me they are not just misaligned.
  3. Gonna build a photo backdrop. Any tips on weathering these kinds of objects? I want the barrels and ice machine to look used.
  4. That's a nice case. May I aske where you obtained it?
  5. Tamiya Metallic Candy Lime Green went down pretty good. Now I wet sand or just polish?
  6. Very nice work, I gotta get some of those PE keys, awesome. My '64 RestoMod Nova is coming along. Nowhere near you caliber, but hey, it's green. PS. The lighting is horrible. The Tamiya Metallic Candy Green went down nice.
  7. Yeah, I know. At least it's a brand new can..HaHa. I have Tamiya primers on order but the weather finally got nice and I could not wait. We'll call it an experiment. I do want the final "feel" of the flat primer coat/s to be smooth, correct?
  8. That paint job finish with that tru 70s color is far out! I like the engine decals touch.
  9. Body: Seems to always be my nemesis. Let me know if my plan is sound. A couple coats of flat white Rustoleum primer. Appears I may have overscribed. How many coats of primer before color? Do I wet sand the primer coat, or only dry?
  10. Interior: I'm Going with it. I still struggle to get an even coat with Molotow for chrome bits.
  11. Where can I find some of those scaled hot rod decals?
  12. Those decals will get lost on the black dash.
  13. Dashboard: To drill or not to drill? I've seen folks drill hole and show gauges from behind. Thoughts, examples?
  14. Luckily soap, water and alcohol got most of the gunk. I'm not sweating the wheel wells.
  15. After clean up, I laid down a layer of matte varnish under the powder. That came out pretty good.
  16. I forgot to mention the over spray on the tires. Ugh!
  17. So I tried plain old Elmer's glue on the rear deck. I taped over the vent. I got too much glue on the tape so when I peeled it off, the layer of glue came off. If I were to let it dry fully I would never get the tape off.
  18. I wanted to try my hand at simulating some carpet with spray adhesive and embossing powder. The spray glue came out so strong it immediately globbed up. I tried to even it out but it was already to rubbery. I could barely wash and peel it off.
  19. Moving on: Interior Tamiya semi-gloss can. Not quite as glossy as I would like. I'm going with it. Maybe a satin varnish? How do I bring detail of seats on a black finish? Molotow or BMF on cranks and handles?
  20. Did I fail my kit if the wheels are not going to roll? And the tire treads are not all going the same direction! I'm a disgrace to my hobby.
  21. I will be saving those wheels for another build. And, I just might stealing that color scheme from the Fleetside in the background.
  22. Do you mean 20"-21" in the 1:1 world? So the Nova would have say 17" wheels? I honestly did not realize the tires were resin as well.
  23. You are correct sir. I did google pics since I didn't know what traction bars were. I did not look close enough at those pis, or the instruction sheet for that matter. What's the best way to unstick them short of prying them off? Because you know there will be that one person that comes over to my house, notices my tractions bars are mounted incorrectly, and leaves in disgust. So, thanks for that Zippi!
