  1. That's pretty wild the box art shows Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood, Oregon. That's less than 100 miles from me! Cool. AND, I'm working on a Nova as well. I don't know what restaurant that is on the box.
  2. Thank you Will. And thanks for following along. It's nice to have sounding boards and encouragement. Moving on to... CAL
  3. We're going to call this one done. I spent additional time learning and trying different things. I have a mental list a mile long of flubs and things I know I can and will improve on (the finish). I enjoy that anyone's skill level can go up with practice. It's great to be back at an activity I can focus on clear headed. So for now, Cool Mustang. ...more kits to conquer. *Any constructive criticisms encouraged. Be kind. For instance, "Cal, you forgot the door locks." Cheers, Cal
  4. What is Curbside? Same as Out Of Box, or no?
  5. What does this accomplish exactly? A shadowing affect?
  6. Hobbylinc stopped by today. I'm not used to buying multiple kits at one time. How do I decide which one to start next?
  7. I'm going to try out these Pick-up-Sticks and new Bending tools. *They will be car related.
  8. Fantastic work.
  9. D I would enjoy seeing progress pics of the dash. It looks very intricate.
  10. One of my first builds since I got back to the bench. Always one of my favs as well. Nothing like the beauty TJ has going.
  11. Still new to the PE world. Next time I will research the parts further. Thanks for the input. Still, I hope the look better than the molded on wipers.
  12. I'm having trouble visualizing what kind of bend to put on these wipers. To look like these... Does anyone have pics?
  13. I'm having trouble visualizing what kind of bend to put on these wipers. Does anyone have pics? To look lie these...
  14. Where can I get one already printed?
  15. Dang! You are so right. And I have Mod podge. I was trying not to smudge the chrome. Always next time. I'm going to try this on these. Thoughts?
  16. OH! I really want to find some PE - F O R D letter for the hood. They disappeared many sandings ago.
  17. And insult to injury, I dropped them in the frame off kilter and could not get them to spin. It will always bug me. I'm not all the happy with the grille. I tried several combinations of panel liner and thinned paint but could not achieve an even tint. It just looks dirty.
  18. I managed to fog up my headlights. I got carried away with the liquid chrome. It was looking good on the back piece. I dropped on the lense not to smush it down. Still good. Then a bonehead move. I tapped a little CA on the edges and it immediately seeped into the seam.
  19. In the 70s my house was all Pennsylvania Dutch. It would be a feat to get that pattern on a car body.? And avocado colored appliances.
  20. My wife is accepting and even encouraging of my hobby. She knows that it helps me keep my sanity in check. I spent a good amount of cash the past couple years getting my bench stocked and equipped coming off a years long hiatus. I have a minimal stash of kits but just added five last night during some insomni-shopping. She giggles when I make a fuss about every small success and commiserates when I flub up. Even when I complain that I need more space for a spray booth set up (yet to happen) she says "I know you do honey". She is quick to point out the flaws that I, of course, already know are there ?. One thing that irks me is she doesn't want me building military "WAR" kits as she calls them. I grew up building mostly planes and as we know there are not many airplane kits out there that aren't military. I was never in the service myself, Mom made me go to college instead, so I have no specific connection to any branch or unit. But I love building me a sexy fighter jet. Oh well, I'll make the sacrifice. My biggest issue is finding places for my finished builds. They're not always display worthy, but I can't just toss them. Anyway, 23 years and still glued seamlessly.
  21. If I were to run a hose from the ... Where does it go?
  22. This add-on was an afterthought. I had already assembled the engine. I was unable to get a clear angle with my pin vise to drill holes so I inserted the boots in first. When looking at web photos, I thought the plug wires went all the way behind the valve covers. Come to find out, not so. I manipulated them as much as possible but still too long. Oh well. I did not want to re-glue on this build.
