Thanks, Kenny...Revell, mostly. The body was from an old Revell Rolls VW. The wheels/tires/brakes are from a Fujimi wheel kit. Some parts box bits (wipers and door handles), and the engine, chassis, and suspension from a Revell 60s Beetle kit (recent reissue with the flower decals). Glad you like it. It was a fun build, inspired by the "German Look".

Thanks, Jonathon...I think it is the same car, the "Screaming Yellow Zonker" that you refered to, that I had a picture of that inspired this build...That was the monochromatic yellow look I was after, but with a stockish motor, and drivetrain, with upgraded wheels/tires/brakes...I hadn't recalled all the details of the SYZ, so thanks for that!

Inspired by Drew Hierwarter's SAE column on the subject...used the body from the Beach Boys deuce, parts box AMT chassis, hood, and grille shell, AMT '40 Ford sedan Delivery wheels, tires, engine, rad, front suspension, Barris Buggy parts box seat, sprue roll cage, "53 Ford p/u steering wheel, nerf bars, pedals, and bumpers from AMT Motorcraft Morgan Shepard Nascar T-Bird, door ties from gift tag string, parts box "headers" and 2nd muffler...krylon yellow, orange is left from a kit box, lettering by hand, weathering wash is a home brew, mud from Humbrol Mud...

Built box stock, except for the licence plates, slight weathering, Krylon spray gold, BMF...even tried to make scale bird poop on this one (on front fenders)...

I started this before the tuner reissue...used Fujimi wheel/tire/brakes kit, Krylon spray...

I just don't understand the whole DONK thing...must be associated with rap, or something like that...I also don't get rap...must be getting to be an old fart...
