  1. I applaud Shapeways demise, I mourn for the many good casters they ruined. Their website was awful, it was NOT oriented at all to model cars, it was nearly impossible to use. They didn't even list 1/25th in their scale search parameters. i was, and am a fan of Mapleaf Modelworks that sold through Shapeways, I have heard from the owner, nothing new has transpired. They are out of business. The vendor supplied the files, Shapeways did the actual printing. These guys sent a rather expensive order to a vacant lot, insisting it was my address despite EIGHT email attempts to correct the situation. The said tough luck. They used any old delivery service, including ( in my view) several incompetent ones. Lost several orders too. Again, tough luck. Really bad customer service. There are reasons they went under. I'm sure I'm not the only guy they screwed over. I am really hoping Mapleleaf products return! A decent printing service for al these guys who can't devote full time to design, printing and sales Shapeways was NOT that service.
  2. I could easily double that but, my wife has cancelled all our credit cards, blocked all model websites and keeps me locked in the house. PLUS, a baseball bat. She's right ! It's a sickness! Seriously though, I'm in my 70's, unless I live to be 100 I can never build them. I have no kids, nobody to leave them to. BUT....just one more kit........?
  3. I'm not being negative nor screaming from anywhere, I'm simply looking at recent releases from MY point of view. i have 1000 or so kits in my stash already, I'm not frantic about anything. i do appreciate Round 2's efforts, I'm just wondering if all those annuals from the 50's through 70's are gone. I'm still hoping for stuff, like MPC Pontiacs, 65 Monaco, Buicks, Lincolns etc. to be revived as was the 64 Cutlass. Not screaming ( really ) , just wondering.
  4. FNG here, I don't know if this is the right thread, but here goes. Is anybody printing early hot rod parts NOT flathead Ford. I know Replicas and Miniature once cast an accurate Model T Frontenac, but it is no more! Buick straight 8? Prewar GM bodies and engines? Am I the only guy who wants this stuff?
  5. Great work, great car, great model ! Exceptional workmanship. Now THAT is an early 60's masterpiece!
  6. These things have been around forever. That car looks to early ford. I remember cars like this when I was a small child and I'm well into my 70,sd! Fun stuff.
  7. Very nice 442.Back in the great days of AMERICAN cars.
  8. Nothing new really. It makes me wonder if the vaults are really empty, Round0 now? None of the old AMT/MPC kits are left to do? Very disappointing!!
  9. There were a bunch of Gunfighters, here is one at a funny car race in (I think), 1967.I was there! Run by Gary Coe, power by 289 Ford with Hillborn injection. He ran several cars over the years, all of them Gunfighter.
  10. WOW! I wondered how this kit would be built! Excellent job, this car is going to make a good dragster push car1 WOW again!
  11. In my opinion the best era of drag racing. 1955 to 1968. VARIETY and experimental cars, no cookie cutters! Twin Chevies, altereds., comp coupes and roadsters, no end of variety. Your era here is 60-63, an exciting time for racing! Theses old kits are time capsules!
  12. KOOL! Takes me back to the Space Age, early 60's! JFK, Seattle Worlds Fair John Glenn optimistic future. A great time in our history and a couple very nice builds. I should build mine!
  13. Thanks!
  14. New guy, old, shaky drag racing only!
