  1. I built this from a Fujimi kit. Bought on Amazon. Took 3 weeks to arrive from Japan.
  2. Sophie and Bean
  3. I bought a Neoeco SJ83 from Amazon when starting out to see if I could master spraying. Bought a couple of name brands since, Paash and Iwata, but I always pull out the SJ83 when I'm ready to spray. Works well for my needs painting models. Probably would not satisfy an artist's needs. I am very satisfied with the results I get. I know how it reacts and what to expect. I use Tamiya X and XF acrylics exclusively with Mr Color leveling thinner. Replacement parts are available from NEOECO and are easy to obtain. Multiple needle sizes available.
  4. Here's Sophie and Bean. Sophie is the small one, she's 6, Bean is 3.
  5. That under hood work exquisite.
  6. I was very fortunate my father held many positions over the years at the local Oldsmobile dealership. He was provided a company car and it was almost always a hot rod . He drove every year 442's from 65 on. Many W machines, and every Hurst Olds the dealer got. The dealer was very fond of my father who was the ultimate company man and our family was allowed to use the company cars. When I turned 16 I had a 67 442 and my father's company car was a 1970 W30. You're depiction is spot on to the one he was driving with the exception it had white stripes. Your model is very well done and I commend your work.
  7. I purchased a compressor with tank from Amazon for about $90 and a NEOECO J83 airbrush. Both have worked great. Compressor is very quiet, doesn't startle me on startup. Was using my 5 gal shop compressor at the noise was unbearable. NEOECO airbrush performs very well for model painting, probably not for artistic use. Lots of adjustability. Can spray fine or heavy amounts. I like to spray final gloss coats pretty heavy to get a high shine and have had no problems. Clean by spraying with your compatible thinner. Attached is a picture of some results
  8. Tamiya paints and clear with Mr Color 400 leveling thinner.
  9. Finished The Tamiya Nissan R390 today. Been a nightmare build. Deformed part right out of the box, Tamiya replaced it quickly. Masking tape messed up paint when masking for second body color. Decals cracked and wrinkled when applying clearcoat. Lost a headlight cover, so left both off. But it's done. Moving on to Italeri 1/12 Bugatti T35B Roadster.
  10. Got a Tamiya 1/12 Lotus 78 F1 car driven by Mario Andretti and a Italeri 1/12 Bugatti Type 35B. No pics yet they're still hidden from SWMBO.
  11. New to MCM. Look forward to learning a a lot. Papa
