Haha well the pull truck is revells 41 chevy truck. Got the six so its a matching team. Gona probably go with special headers and a custom intake. Probably gona be in primer with dark red steels. Same color as on the steels on the car. Trailer needs some small axel moving modification and truck needs to be worked on but if i primer it it will save about one week. Whats gona pull yours? Was going to go with a mpc 33 chevy panel but it just came in and its a restoration project so not going to be done in 2 weeks. Posted my email on your thread so if you want many more pics of it just email me and i will send them. If u gona build a gasser let me know i will give u hints on it.

Shocks? was that i put some radius rods or torsion bars on the axel form the nomad kit but i painted them black so they arent noticeable. I will get a pic of that for u too see. Glad u like it , cant wait to race yeah but with on rule u gota run a six also
-
the best thing to do when building a large scale model and u are going to change it anyway, buy one that is scratched. One its cheap and 2 your gona paint it differentaly anyway.
-
wow it looks great, i cant wait to see when it comes out of paint. I just posted my update today. I will paint mine this weel on friday maybe earlier. Check it out. But back to yours. I like the stance very much i also like that u used the stock wheel cutouts not the flares. I love it, cant wait to see it painted and put together.
-
check mine out just posted pics and everything. Hope u like it. U might have to fix the dash abit so it doesnt hit the glass.
-
update time. Well i got the frame done on it. I got my whitewalls painted and put the wheels tyres on the axel, got the steels for the rear painted, motor put in, and interior fitted to glass and primed the body, also started the trailer. What you guys think of it?
-
yeah lets try that. hope your gonna be in so cal soon than. I started my railer last night. Started out as revells hemi hydro boat trailer. Put a plate of styren on it after cutting out the center members. Well my gassers gonna be up tonight with pics. This weekend its gettin the paint, flat black base with ruby red metal flake oooooh Well i also started my truck but i only filled pin holes from the ejector and cot the hood sides away. If you is still online stay about 10 more mins so you can see mine if i can post all my pics. But yes if you ever in so cal email me apacheflock@aol.com so we might be able to meet

Help Model Cars on the Web
sdrodder replied to Gregg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
hey gregg you basicly want us to pormote the site right so how about i email so cal car culture and tell them about our site and that they put us in their model car resources? what do you think should i do that. -
well right now i have to finish my gasser team but when i finish these i will start. I will put the hemi up front, add a straight axel up front, some axel for the rear, roll cage that u see only partialy, i will paint it but with silver as the base and some paint flake of so it looks like a metal boat Well thanks for the encouragement. Any more comments. Oh and i will not run bisycle tires up front.
-
Realy stupid idea that came to me over dinner. I have revells hemi hydro boat combo with truck and trailer. Now i need the trailer for something else but what if i converted the boat into a gasser . It already has a hemi. So what i am thinking is putting the hemi up front with a driveshaft, using the amt willys rear axels in it and a straight axel up front. I would take me a while to do that but what do you think of the idea Any ideas comments welcome.
-
either way u chosse it will look good so no sweat. Can wait to see the next update.
-
thanks for all the tip. The reason i asked is i am building my gasser and i cut the grill away and there is a huge spot of no chrome. So i might paint it but i will try out the alu foil tip and the chrome paint tuch up. One question could i use aclad to touch up or would it not work? Thanks for all your help
-
that is nice. love the detailing. great job
-
thats what i was thinking a fade away paint. This is what i would do. shave the body of emblems, lower it, hop the motor up slightly, fade away the paint foil it and use crome reverse rims and white walls or sombero hubcaps. My 2cents. but i would realy love to see what you come up with since it is your model.
-
kinda figured that it was a bad suggestion but also a good one. oh well its your choice(do it) to build more. I know i will build more Well here is one more idea stop talking to us and keep going on it so you can start the others can wait to see them
-
There are probably a few of us that had hot rods, still have hot rods, and are building more hot rods; Drag raced thru the '50s, '60s, and '70s; always had hi-performance cars... We build models to redo some that we did in 1:1, and some that we wanted to do.
-
again progress to come either tonight or tommorow
-
i like it but i wouldnt use those rims and tires but it all depends on what you have planned for it. I would go with mild custom, kandy paint, and crome reverse rims and white walls but thats just my 2cents.
