Love this way of channeling. Love the headers too. Man i think i love to many things to list about this car.
-
love this body. Something different than a ford. Probably will track one down and make a rat out of it.

Grapms i know what u mean. I mean i m 14 but i actualy apriciate stuff like this. I had one of my class mates tell me when i told him my hobby was buildin model cars this is what he said "Why do you do something like that its just a waste of time and no good anyway. Playing video games is more fun anyway". I was pretty mad that day because of this. I think the reason i actualy apriciate it is because i love the 30s 40s 50s, the cars the cult.... and i actually have some models from that time 60 el camino, 60 cheby truck, 57 ford and chevy. I think it would go back to apariciating this art if no kid had video games or fancy stuff like it. It think it would go back to building model cars or other stuff. I dont know if i am wrong but it is my though.

looks great. If i had the space right now i woulod build one too. It is missing something though. DUST Just joking as usual. It looks great. In one of the pics u have a 41 chevy truck. I am guessing u built it so how did you assemble the bed. I am buildin one right now and might have to assemble the bed but i dont want to mess up.

What's next for the automobile?
sdrodder replied to Jairus's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Some technical innovators will try to build electric VW Beetles and someone will create a retro-fit Hybrid power train for classic cars. (It might not burn rubber anymore but it can still be driven to the coast with the top down!) I am not trying to sound like a total idiot but thats one thing i will not do. I am gettin a 58 chevy truck with a 235 in 2 years which will be my daily driver. What poeple need to realize is you can get up to 20 25 mpgs out of this little motor. I talked with one guy he built a gmc inliner with 5 carbs yes 5 and he gets 22 mpg. As for those 70s gas eater motors. I think they will die out now. But one thing i will not do is add a newer hybrid motor in an oll classic because of all the computors. If one wire is pinched the car wont drive anymore. Just my opinion. -
very nice. Whats in it for the color? How about a metalic blue or a metalic green.

Well if there was a crying smily face my post would just be that. Well when i live in los angeles i went up to his shop. Well i met him he gave me his autograph and he was a nice guy. For those of you who say he isnt i dont know what u guys are talking about. When he died it struck me badly. Now his shop is closeing is even worse. I hope it opens back up but i dont see it right now. It is just sad no one could keep it open

What's this?
sdrodder replied to paul@detaildownunder's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Man lets ask this question. What cars do u not have Every time u post u actualy have it. Dang. And they are all stored on 2 shelves. WOW Well this one has inspired me. I think i will start cutting up a deora kit. -
Clay i agree bout the donk discussion lets stop. All i have to say is there is no need to get worked up over something so small.
-

Abe i will send you those pics today. I do think solder comes in 1/8 size. The best thing you could do is go to ur local craft store for craft wire sizes and for solder go to your local home inprovement store for that. The nice part about solder is that it is very flexible so u can just bend it with ur hand unlike the craft wire. The pipes i made for my truck were made from craft wire and i took pliers to bend them. Hope this helps and i will send you pics today.

Well first of all welcome to the board . You will learn alot from these guys here but as mentioned above dont try and learn 10 techniques at once. Take your time and learn it right. As for your cars. I love both of them. I am not a realy big fan of big rims but i have to say they look great on your cars. I realy like the color choice on the 50. Did you have to put any kind of base coat down as in white black silver...? Cant wait to see more of your builds and posts.

Do I build it or sell it?
sdrodder replied to HotRodaSaurus's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I would not sell the smp impala. I would finish the resto and put it on my shelf. As for the toronado well just keep that one too. Wouldnt make much of a difference. -
one way i paint my headers is with testors steel in a bottel. I brsuh it on so it has a little black and silver look. For headers or exhaust material is i either use craft wire or solder. I just finished some straight pipes for my 41 truck that just go striaght down. if u post your email i will send ya pis of it.
