  1. I'm glad you saw the 57 through! It would have been a shame to let it sit in a box unfinished. Cool 50 Ford also!
  2. It looks great Tom. Nice work on the paint. Show us more!
  3. The first mock ups of the Thunderbird used 61 Lincoln sheetmetal on the shorter T-bird wheelbase. It was Robert McNamara who stole the design from the Ford studio and gave it to Lincoln. Ellwood Engel desinged the "Engelbird" that went to Lincoln. The Ford design studio then came up with the "BulletBirds". The two cars shared many parts so the could be assembled at the same state of the art Wixom plant.
  4. Nice work Harold. Everything "works" on this one!
  5. WOW! Too cool Dave! That's it you've forced me into doing a "classic" of some sort. Thanks for posting the detailed pics on all of your builds too. I won't be able to approach the level of detail and quality of workmanship. I think it will be a "fun" build. After all isn't this what we all do this for.
  6. A big welcome Ed!
  7. 1965 english ford cortina or lotus Here's a pic of a NOVO (ex Frog) 1/16 Cortina.
  8. Neat idea on the Cruiser. Isn't it neat opening old JoHan kits, you never know what color of plastic to expect.
  9. Cool idea Greg! That will give me a reason to blow the dust off of some possible candidates. But now which one?? I need a reasonable build time though. I still haven't finished a club "same kit" challenge when Revell introduced the 69 Z28!
  10. I have a book around here (somewhere?!) that shows a 59 mock-up with the 57-8 hardtop on it. Even with the boxy body it looked good.
  11. Lookin great Dave! I'm gonna have to break out my Monogram Cord 812 or my Heller Mercedes 190!
  12. Ho my oh my..... That's going to be neat!
  13. It's looking god Dave!
  14. Almost young enough to be my grandson!
  15. These were new when I was born.
  16. I think the top car is a 1903 Ford model A, the second a 1921 Oldsmobile.
  17. Oops wrong picture. I meant the green car.
  18. The gold is a perfect color for your 57! I may have to do one now!
  19. Something just came to me. Wasn't it a project of Dean Moon's? I don't think it was ever finished.
  20. Nice work! Great color & excellent BMF!
  21. I've seen pics of the ElCamino hauler too, but I can't remember where.
  22. The steep gearing makes up (somewhat) for the lack of power. You find you have to plan way ahead for any "speed" moves, its best to take it slow and easy and watch the world pass you by. It'll punch a big hole in the wind once you get it rolling. VW advertised a top speed of 88 mph. when new. I suspect it is governed. I had Horst up to 85 one morning when I was running late for work. It was wound kinda tight, but felt like it had more.
  23. I was listening to an oldies station and "A Walk In The Black Forest" (don't like the song though) by Horst Jankowski came on. So I thought my Vanagon looks like a "Horst" so Horst its been.
