  1. Good question Jeff. Our products start from a dream, napkin drawings, scale drawings, measurements, photos, 1:1 parts that are measured, CAD files that need to be modified, CAD files that we purchase and etc. Once we have a product in a CAD file, we build it in the computer to make sure everything is accurate and that all the parts fit perfectly. When we are satisfied that the CAD model is correct, we send it to the printer and it spits out the raw product. Before any of our products go to market, they are physically inspected. Multi piece kits are assembled as a final assurance that everything fits properly. We also have a very select group of modellers who we sometimes ask to test our products for us. They have free reign to criticise what we produce and if they tell us that a change needs to be made, we make it. Finally, we listen to what modellers want. Some of you wanted a transmission for the Offy, so we've done it. Some of you wanted a BBC and a 392 so we've done.........OOPS! The cats out of the bag..........
  2. WOW!! Me likes it too. Watch got in the background? Looks like some cool large scale trucking going on.

Guys, take the time to look at Dave's albums. Believe me its worth it.
  4. Dave Sherman is a modeller who is well known for his scratch built large scale drag race cars. TDR Innovations has established a relationship with Dave and he is currently building a twin turbo'd TDR426. Dave started with one of our TDR426 kit engines and a set or our turbo's and from there he is scratchbuilding an engine that will eventually end up in an 8th scale Baracuda being produced by Scalemotorcars. Have a close look, there's a lot of scratchbuilding going on here. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
  5. I'm building the same MB so spoke to a friend who has built several. He suggests that the body be fully attached to the chassis before fitting the doors. Secondly, he says to check the position of the hinges. MB door hinges have an offset and its possible to install them wrong. He says not to permanently attach the hinges but tape them in place using packing tape. At this point, we can sand the contact points until the door closes and opens smoothly. You're probably aware of the above, but it may help someone else (like me) who is building the same car.
  6. Do you have the PK video Harry? If not, I can look at mine and see what it says.
  7. Hi Ron Go to www.scalemotorcars.com, click on "Large Scale Cars" and read the "1/12th 57 Chev Build For My Dad" thread. The author is doing a very highly detailed build, including the fuel injection that you are doing. Connect with him, I'm sure he'll share information and ideas. By the way, this is not a solicitation for your membership. I'm a member of both sites and just wanted to try to help you out.
  8. Do it Chuck! Building a Pocher is a wonderful experience. Its challenging and time consuming but its also very rewarding. One of the tricks to building a Pocher is Paul Koo's video. He's done one for each kit and its a must have. I'm currently building two Pochers and have no regrets.
  9. TDR has several 1/16th scale products in R&D, including the Muncie fourspeed. Release date is probably not until mid Feb though. If you need more information, contact me off site at "tdr.innovations@gmail.com".
  10. I'm in Victoria BC.
  11. Here's a couple of sample wheel/tire combo's that we're doing. To see what we have in stock, please visit our website.
  12. Here's a few more products from TDR Innovations. Like all of our products these are CAD designed and Rapid Prototype produced. Depending on builder preference, some surface smoothing may be required. This is easily accomplished with high build primer, sandpaper, sanding sticks, small files etc. Holes can be cleaned/reamed with a hand drill. This is a bellhousing, starter and fourspeed trans for the Offy engine. Now this engine can be used in street rod and salt flats applications. Next is an 8th scale Rack & Pinion steering. As promised, we're now offering an IRS for the Bit T kits. No chassis modifications are required but depending on which body style you are building, some minor work to the floor may be required.
  13. This one is available in 1/16th now.
  14. This is just the beginning Harry.
  15. Some of you have been asking if TDR Innovations will be producing any bodies. Well, today we're introducing "Miss E" and its available in 1/24th, 1/25th, 1/16th and 1/12th scales. The 1/24th and 1/25th scale kit includes a one piece body, hood, trunk lid, doors and bumper. The 1/16th and 1/12th kit includes a two piece body, hood, trunk lid, doors and bumper. These bodies are CAD designed and Rapid Prototype produced. The parts have a slight sand cast finish that is easily smoothed with high build primer and sand paper. The body is well braced to provide strength while sanding and when finished, the braces are easily removed. We designed the body with the doors, hood and trunk lid removed so that you won't have to worry about cutting up the body. These and other new products can be found on our web site at "www.tdrcatalog.com". For information on these and other products or help with your custom needs, please contact us at "tdr.innovations@gmail.com".
  16. Imagine this. You've got the opportunity to participate in what could become the biggest annual model car show ever. It won't cost you anything, you don't have to register and you don't have to leave home to participate or to view the models. The owners of three of the best on line model car web sites have joined together and will be hosting the first annual "Online Model Car, Truck and Bike Show". The host sites are Modelcars Magazine Forum, Scalemotorcars.com and Automodelling.com. Today we are announcing that this event will be held online between Friday October 15th and Sunday November 21st, 2010. Gregg is going to create a special website just for this event so participants need only enter at one site. Due to the ever present controversy over rules, we have kept this event as simple as possible. Here's how it will work: ** This event is not a competition. ** Anyone can enter. You do not have to be a member of the host sites. ** There is no entry fee. ** The event is open to cars, trucks and motorcycles in any scale. ** All models must be finished. ** Maximum of three models per entrant. ** All entry's must be posted on the host site within one week of October 15th, 2010. ** Entry is via a maximum of four photos per model. Photos should be taken on a white background with no props and should be high resolution with thumbnails for web display. ** Description of the model is limited to a maximum of 150 words. In addition to the show, we will be inviting members of each site to post their "how to" tutorials covering subjects like soldering, upholstery, paint, scratchbuilding and etc. If you're wondering about prizes, there won't be any, this is not a competition. However, there will be some Peoples Choice prizes that will be announced later. This event will be advertised on all three sites and at model car events leading up to the show. Model Cars Magazine has publication rights. Gregg will be announcing the web site later in the year. We'll make additional announcements leading up to the event. In the meantime, you've got ten months to build a model for this event. Anyone who would like to donate draw prizes to the event can contact me at "tdr.innovations@gmail.com.
  17. Hi Thom TDR Innovations did this Jag in 12th scale as an experiment. Its CAD designed and Rapid Prototype produced. You'll notice the extensive body braceing thats put in place for body prep. If you'd like to know more about this project you can contact us at "tdr.innovations@gmail.com" or view our web site at "www.tdrcatalog.com".
  18. Scale Motorcars has a large aircraft and boat following. They are at www.scalemotorcars.com.
  19. Have you ever wanted to attend just one of the big model car shows, but you haven't done so because there aren't any in your area, or you don't want to have to spend money to travel to an event? Have you ever felt intimidated by haveing to "compete" against the pro builders? Or worse yet, have you had to pay to enter a show, either as a participant or a spectator? Imagine this. You're going to have an opportunity to participate in what could be the largest model car, truck and bike show ever and you won't have to leave home to do it. Watch for an exciting announcement in January!
  20. Chris Garcia in California does hand made wire wheels. I've been to his shop and have a set on order. They're not cheap, but they are exquisit. His E is "woodythx138@mlode.com.
  21. I REALLY like those black wheels. Nice to see something different for a change. Nice build, keep us informed.
  22. I've just read through this thread and its a fascinating concept. If you guys ever decide to a similar project in large scale, let us know at TDR Innovations. We'd donate some cool parts to the project.
  23. On behalf of the TDR Innovations partnership, I'd like to wish everyone here, and your families, a very happy and healthy holiday season. We also shout out a hearty "Thanks" to Gregg and Harry for allowing us to be a part of this great site.
  24. I agree with your comment about detailing. I just think a little bit of added detail here and there adds to the look. I've never been a purist, although I admire those that do the research and build by the book. I love that RR. Is that a stock chassis colour?
