  1. NICE flame job if you ask me! Not easy to do on such a small scale. Did you use the Createx Auto Air paints I see in the bkgd?
  2. I have one of these in waiting and can't wait to see more of this one. More pics please!!!
  3. DamnCranky those rods are sweet! I especially love the green rat rod with the 49 Ford grill trim out back, ...and what is the front grill from? Excellent photography as well. Like the set up and will have to try some time. Hey guys if you are looking for good acrylic paints to use may I suggest Createx Auto Air. They come in all kinds of special effects, pearls, irredescents, candies, metallics and transparencies, and spray on flat like automotive base coats! And you can use any two part clear, canned clear or the water based clear for a beautiful gloss finish too. I use this stuff for custom painting full sized art and vehicles, but am now trying on my models. Also for a bkgd graduated fade sheet there used to be stuff available form Letraset. It is like poster paper and comes in a large sheet and in various colours. I haven't bought any for a long time and don't know if they still make or sell them, but if your near an art supply store you might wanna check it out. They're cheaper but they aren't cleanable like the stuff mentioned here already. Hope you don't mind me posting these tips. Thought some of you might like to check them out. OK Time to shut up now. Thanx for sharing those builds!
  4. Oh man! This is just insane!!!!! Love the progress picks. Always wondered how you guys machined those super details. OK, I'm ready for some more!?
  5. Now THAT'S different! Like that new hood too.
  6. Would love to take that to get the groceries! Can't find parking space, ...MAKE YOUR OWN!!!!! Well done.
  7. Yep! Same here. Reminds me of a buddy's Duster we painted with the flake in the late 70's. The back end sat up like that as well, ...but the wheel wells were full a big fat rubber! Nice job.
  8. Looks like a TRUE rat rod in every respect. Very well done!
  9. NICE! I've never built any of these kits because those decals scare the ###### out of me!!!!
  10. Not too shabby at all for a first time build. As for the paint, like others here have said, don't mix the paints. Use the same compatible stuff throughout the job and you will achieve good results. Also if you are spraying paint from the can, get a jar of warm water and immerse the can in it. Warm paint flows better and you'll get a better glossy finish. Hope this helps and definitely, keep it fun!
  11. Looks bang on with the actual photo. Very nice work!
  12. That is the best Super Bird model I have ever seen!!!!! That engine compartment looks like the real thing as well as paint and interior. One question though, and this is the only thing that convinced me it was a model, why the molded in windshield wipers? Please post more!
  13. I guess real. NO ...model. Wait! Wait! ...real?
  14. Excellent build! I love these older Nascar kits. Thanx for showing yours.
  15. Could use the real thing right now. Just spent the last hour and a half shoveling ...snow, not sand!
  16. Nice collection of truck kits. My favorite is the 72 Chevy 4x4!
  17. So which dwarf are you? Grumpy or Doc?! Welcome aboard.
  18. Ron this is a forum for scale model cars, not real ones!!! That Chevy is bang on man. Welcome aboard.
  19. Same thing here. 6 on the go, not one completed in the last six months! But I'll usually buy them when they're on sale ...and who can pass up a sale!! All together I've only got about 50 other kits in waiting... And you can never have to many kits!!!!!
  20. Great article. My hats off to all the women out there who support their spouses and their hobby!
  21. It would be nice if I could do a clean out too but there's about 3 feet of snow in front of my garage door!
  22. Huh. Must have missed this one. Here's mine... Not the best kit in the world, but this photo makes it all work I think.
  23. Finally found someone who turned the 41 Plymouth into a gasser! Nice builds.
  24. Great builds and can't wait to see what you come up with in the new year!
  25. Like it,...no,...I LOVE IT! You did a great job with a so-so kit.
