  1. I dont have any 1:1 pics of the car yet i'll try to have a friend of mine scan the pics and email them to me.
  2. I'll be using the kits engine i dont know what to do about the engine cover.
  3. Heres the personalized licence plate thats going on this build
  4. Heres another car that im replicating for a friend this time its his current ride. I'd used a Revell 2009 Challenger kit. Since the 1:1 car has a 6 speed the kits automatic transmission had to go i found one that was close from a AMT 92 Dodge Viper in order for that to work i carefully separated the crossmember and moved it back. Theres a few more things that needs to be corrected to make it accurate for a 2013 model.
  5. A good friend of mines wanted me to replicate his first car that he bought back in May of 1972. It was just a basic Dodge Challenger that was Bright Red with white interior & a white vinyl top and had a 318 under the hood. One day he gave me a box of his old models to restore and unknownly this old MPC 72 Challenger was in that box. The frame im using is from a AMT 70 Challenger R/T, engine is from a AMT 71 Duster i'd modified the optional six-pack intake to resemble the 2 barrel intake that the 1:1 car had.
  6. Welcome to the forum
  7. Welcome Terry its awesome to see a modeler from Louisiana. I cant wait to see whats in store.
  8. Since i screwed up the body by making an attempt to bulge the quarter panels. I wind up getting an old glue bomb in a trade.
  9. Heres pics of the real car.
  10. When i seen the pics of the Flashback '57 Chevy that was featured in Hot Rod Magazine back in 1984 i was like i got to replicate this car in scale.
  11. I finally got the Monaco on all fours still debating on the wheels.
  12. George- Im trying to figure out how im gonna bulge the quarters without damaging the body
  13. I know on the 1:1 it had 4 68 Cadillac mufflers im using the Hemi muffflers from the kit the other set came from my other 67 GTX that im building into a Sox & Martin car.
  14. I been wanting to build this for some time. Im replicating Silver Bullet that Jimmy Addison street raced back in the late 60's early 70's. The kit im using is the Revell Sox & Martin 67 GTX reissue. Good thing is that it has the parts I need except for the cross-ram intake, exhaust and the deeper set of Cragars for the rear.
  15. I wasn't digging the Smoke Gray paint so i stripped the body and repainted it with Dupli-Color Graphite Gray Mica which looks better.
  16. Chuck, Nice concept of shoehorning a Hemi in a Hornet I like it cant wait until shes finished. I might have to steal your idea beings I like it so much if that's cool with you.
  17. Ken, When I first posted this thread I once had a Monogram 70 GTX as time rolled on I replaced the GTX with a Revell 70 Roadrunner that I got from member Casey.
  18. Oscar, The color I used on the Roadrunner is Dupli-Color Medium Gray Metallic. If you cant find that color Dupli-Color Charcoal Gray Metallic would work
  19. Its cool i appreciate you passing it on. I guess the frame is going in the dip tank redo it all over again which is no big deal.
  20. Thanks for the tip i usually prime my Mopar frames with the body color overspray on my factory stock builds beings this build is a drag car i'd figured it wasnt all that important. But if it means that much i'll strip the paint off the frame and redo it no big deal on my end.
  21. I just got back started on this old girl that harebrained idea of mines on making Tuck N Roll out of shelf liner didnt work so i removed the old stuff and replaced it with Evergreen V-Groove part no 2080. Its .020 inch thick with a .080 spacing its pretty convincing for tuck n roll.
  22. Heres a project that i'd started on a couple of weeks ago. I'd painted the body, frame, hood scoop, front & rear facias with Model Master German Silver to replicate the hue that was on the Landy car.
  23. Heres a couple of builds i have in primer.
