  1. Since i got this kit from member Turbo Kitty this one car came to mind the 57 Chevy from the 1975 movie Return To Macon County. Been wanting to build it for some time just could never find a suitable kit until now. First order of business was to remove the Bel Air side trim and to do that i'd used a burr attachment on my Dremel and off it went and filled the areas with spot putty. To replicate the interior i'd used some pleated rubber shelf paper from Home Depot.
  2. After three paint attempts i'd got it right this time the color is Testors Mystic Emerald and painted the underside of the hood, underneath the body & engine bay with Rust-Oleum "Textured" Black.
  3. Heres the build just getting started.
  4. This kit caught my eye when i was at the Tigerfest show i had to have it . Im planning on detailing this one. The color im using is Dupli-Color Radiant Silver as a basecoat and the topcoat is Dupli-Color Metalcast Blue Anodized to replicate that Candy Blue that was used on all the Jungle Jim cars. Heres the box art.
  5. Yesterday i was shopping at Home Depot and this Husky 4 drawer tool chest caught my eye i'd figured i can store my model tools & supplies in this. A lot better than that bulky Blueprint Cabinet i once had. The price on this unit was $ 79.99.
  6. The frame is in paint i'd used Premium Flat Black which is the best flat black i'd ever used found it at my local hardware store. Also i'd made the headliner out of medical tape its not the best but it will do.
  7. The kits frame is a nice casting theres a couple of things that needed attention the crude molded-in so called coil springs & the copyrighting. So i'd drilled out the stubs that were supposedly coil springs and used my Dremel to burr out the copyrighting and filled in the burr marks with spot filler. I'd used a set of coil springs from a Monogram 64 GTO kit.
  8. The kits stock front bumper is painted the body color to resemble the endura bumper and the rear bumper is even painted the body color as well.
  9. Heres my latest project that im working on alongside my Grumpys Toy build. Revell did a great job with this kit even though most of the pieces are the old school Monogram issue. The downside of this kit is the inaccurate wheels & valve covers to correct that i'd used a set of wheels from a Revell 69 Baldwin/ Motion Corvette kit and the valve covers from a AMT 70 Baldwin/Motion Camaro even though the Camaro is a 1:25 scale close enough. Heres a couple of pics.
  10. This is my first early Pro Stock build i'd been wanting to build Grumpy's car for quite some time. Im using a AMT 70 Camaro Z-28 kit and using some pieces from the AMT 70 Baldwin/Motion Camaro kit as well. Heres some inspiration for this build.
  11. I know this is probably a long shot does anybody know where i can find a set of Motion/Baldwin valve covers in resin.
  12. After the paint dried & gassed out i'd placed the body & interior onto the chassis to give everybody an idea what she will be looking like when its finished.
  13. After two years of being stashed away finally got some paint on the Camaro i'd used Dupli-Color Toreador Red Metallic.
  14. Thanks for the compliment. I dont have a 67 Cougar the 67 i was referring to was a Mustang.
  15. Heres a shot of the frame i'd painted the frame with Plasti-Cote Red Oxide primer with the body color overspray.
  16. Heres my latest project that i'd been working on for 2 years on & off. The first thing i'd done when i first started this project was scrapped the kits front subframe and grafted one from a AMT 67 Mustang GT & also used the engine bay which both pieces are more accurate. The other day i'd managed to get some paint on it i'd used Plasti-Cote "Engine Enamel" Chevrolet Orange to replicate the stock Competition Orange. The engine im using is a 428 ci CJ thats from a Revell 69 Torino which has the C-6 automatic.
  17. Heres a shot of the frame painted the body color.
  18. The Chevy LS engine is finally at home in the Supra's engine bay sure beats the kits Turbo inline 6.
  19. Since the body work was complete it was time to lay some paint i'd used Rust-Oleum Cobalt Blue Metallic .
  20. More body work on the Supra i'd filled the holes for the spoiler since im not using it & filled the exhaust outlet beings im going with Challenger T/A style exhaust.
  21. I wasnt happy with the kits valve covers so i'd modified a set of AMT 97 Camaro LT-1 valve covers to resemble a set of aftermarket LS units.
