  1. Sweet man!!!Thanks Im sure I could have found something but Im errr......whats the word...ahhhh...I look for it later...LOL...Later.
  2. Well actually I washed it and thought it was dry but there must have been a lil water right there and the primer bubbled it up.No big deal actually it sanded right down.Im hoping to have the body painted by Friday.Also....those of you that have built this kit before know there is no hinge for the hood.Could someone post a link to a thread showing ways to do that.I know its been covered before. Thanks for looking and keep your eyes open.Later.
  3. here is the final coat of primer pics....Ive still got to fix a couple of boo-boos.And a couple of engine pics.Im loving all that chrome but I know it may be a bit much for some.More pics coming as I finish this. Thanks for looking guys!!!Later. Im dealing with some gremlins on the bodywork like the bubble on the right rear you can see in the pics but hopefully it will be pretty good lookin.
  4. Im not sure if this is considered "art" but I like to mess around in photoshop.here are a couple of my projects. This is the Camaro Concept.I did this about 3-4 months after the photos were released so the date of production wasnt cast in stone yet. Original: Chop: Different paint scheme: This is (I believe) Jay Lenos Buick Roadmaster. Original: Chop: And one more... I did this for a competition the theme was Best Drifter. Original: Chop: I think I would have done better if I would have left off the writing....Anyway thanks for looking and if people are interested I may post more.If not....no harm...LOL.
  5. That is pretty much how Im hoping the bodywork comes out.PLUS since Im using silver it will show flaws even easier>great work on that beauty. I like this kit I built one about 15-16 years ago. Thanks for sharing guys!!
  6. Thanks man.Its kind of past my skill level.BUT im willing to try.Im going to spend a lil extra time on the next round of body work so it will be SMMMOOOOVVVE.Thanks for looking!!Later.
  7. WELL.....LOL.I dont really know as of yet.Im keeping the entire front part all the way back to the part where the rear begins to angle up.Then I want to make the frame fit the 23"s.I know in theory how to do it but Ive never tried it on a model. The molded in exhaust that I removed will be (hopefully) replaced with aluminum/plastic tubing. If you or anyone else has a suggestion PLEASE post pics. Thanks for looking.Later.
  8. The roadster is on some aluminum cylinders I "found" at work...(shhhhhh)The front end was still drying thanks to some big dummy dropping it and stepping on it.So....just for you.....a couple more pics sitting on the wheels. And the view most will see......
  9. Looks so real!!Detailed great. Thanks for the pics man!!
  10. Love the detail.Lots of skill involved in that build. Thanks for sharing!!
  11. Hey guys this is kind of advanced for me but hey....its just plastic right?Anyway it is a re-release of the old tried and true (sort of) Amt 1957 Chevy Bel-Air.This is the Boyd Coddington rendition.Im building it my style which is to say youll either love it or hate it.Wheels will be 23" (I hear the gasps already)Pegasus Chrome Ts.Paint will be Testors One Coat Lacquer Diamond Dust (silver) and House Of Kolor Orion Silver. The Testors will be applied in a "ghost Flame".Anyway here are the pics. Now for pics with initial primer coat to show flaws (Tamiya Fine white LOVE this stuff) And finally the hacked up chassis that Im kind of doing blind since Ive never done any scratchbuilding!!! I know Ive got A LOT of work ahead of me but thats the point right? Thanks for looking guys and comment critiques welcome.Later!!
  12. First off let me say thanks to everyone for the kind words and the nice comments!!I really appreciate it. On to the question of paint.I got VERY lucky with this can...Ive never had much luck with Testors enamel BUT I tried something different this time.I heated the can in hot (not boiling) water for about thirty seconds.I sprayed it on top of two coats of Testors Gray Primer. It doesnt have a clear coat on it but has a very nice shine (i.m.o.)I know a lot of (ehem) older guys dont care for the big wheel look but I like the Chip Foose/Roy Trepanier type designs.Dont get me wrong...a well done traditional rod is just as cool.I am going to try my hand at some more styles as my abilities improve (channeling, chops etc.)And I believe with this site help I may be on the right track.Look for pics of my AMT 1957 Chevy (the one with the alligator) On The Workbench.Once again...thanks for all the encouragement!!Later...(sorry for rambling)
  13. Well Im new here and Im sure there was a introduce yourself thread somewhere.....(dunno where) But anyway...here are a couple of my new builds.I quit building 14-15 years ago and recently started back.Just looking for some input and ideas to be better.Ive "lurked" on here enough to know there are TONS of talent on here.So here goes. Two for the show.... First is an AMT 1950 Ford Nostalgic Series I bought from Big-Lots.The second is the VERY nice 1932 Ford Roadster from Revell. The 1950 has been fully shaved (all trim, trunk hinges etc. etc.)The Roadster is box stock but I left the taillights off because they are HUGE.PICS..... The Ford Convertible was painted Testors Lime Gold Metallic. The Roadster is Testors One Coat Lacquer Blazin Black. Thanks for looking.AND I hope there isnt a photo-per-post limit cause I bet I went over...LOL.
