  1. That looks absolutely amazing so far............. You blended the front together perfectly......Looks Great!
  2. Builds are lookin' great------------ Can't wait to see the finished product!
  3. I know there used to be a resin company that made the front suspension pieces to convert the '84 GMC over to a 2WD version.......came with upper/lower control arms....coils...etc. etc.......... Another option would be to graft a front subframe from an AMT 70 Camaro kit, or use the front suspension from a '62 Impala kit.....If I remember right, both of those front ends are pretty detailed pieces, and you can easily "flip" the front spindles to lower the front down quite a bit..........The bed on that truck would be easily tubbed, it's just that you might have to fabricate the rear part of the frame to make it narrow enough to fit a shortend axle......... I've been wanting to do the same thing, just haven't had the time.........Definitely keep us updated!!!!---------
  4. Love it------------------
  5. Just a couple of mock-up shots of the Cutlass.....Put a thin guide coat of primer on the body tonight, and worked on the chassis some more. Plan on wet sanding the body tonight, and filling in anything that needs it..hood,bumpers and doors are filled in now...(that was alot of fun)...........then hopefully shooting some color on it later tomorrow night....... ...Still need to finish odds-n-ends on the chassis....fuel tank, oil filters..wheel backs.....etc.etc......
  6. Definitely have my attention...... ...Your build is lookin' sweet so far, and I am lovin' it........BTW, where did you get those back rims? Are they something you made or?
  7. Look'n great so far------------------ ................Nothin' better than big horsepower in a light-weight car.
  8. Beautifully done!--------------- The extra work really paid off.........Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Advice taken............ ...Started working on getting the body "filled in", and hope to get it done today or tomorrow, so I can get back to working on the chassis. Found a resin blown big-block Olds that I'm contemplating buying for this project........Might also add a spoiler under the front bumper, haven't really decided. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated....................
  10. Too Cool.............. That was a big shock when the front end opened up.........
  11. That's lookin' pretty cool-------------------- ..........I think you're getting the look of the 1:1 perfectly....Nice Job!
  12. Gonna be a sweet build when you're finished.............. ..............Can't wait for more progress shots!!
  13. Love the build MJ!!! Always have been a fan of your work..........
  14. Nice--------- .....I think these cars look sweet with a straight front axle.......Looks like you nailed the perfect stance for it.
  15. Nicely done!---------- Those kits have always been on my "must -have" list.........especially the haulers. Even though I've never built any big-trucks, I still think they would be cool to have............
  16. For any body work, I've always used the glazing and spot putty used on 1:1 cars..........It's super easy to work with, and I always use those "fake" credit cards that I get in the mail as my "putty spreader"..............
  17. Made a lil' progress on the Cutlass tonight............. Sanded off the door handles and emblems on the body......still debating on whether or not to glue the hood in place, and fill in the gaps between the hood/fender, and also fill in the door lines....... ....Didn't know if I should make it look like a one piece body or what..................... The frame looks black in the pictures, but it is more of a dark gray color......I was thinking of a burgandy color for the body, but that will change at least a few times.....never can decide on a color til the last minute. Also working on cutting the frame down to fit the wheelbase of the body.....hope to have that done tomorrow along with the front suspension. So far this has been a fun project with minimal headaches, but I'm sure I'll run into something...... ...
  18. I've always wanted to get my hands on one of those older 442 Funny Car kits, but the prices are crazy.... ....So as I was messing around in the garage tonight, I decided to start making my own.....I took the AMT '69 Cutlass kit, and am in the process of merging it with a Polar Lights funny car, and some parts from the old "CopOut" kit............ Had to do alot of trimming here and there, but I think it's gonna work out.............
  19. Looks great------------
  20. Thanks Terry, and hope your day was great as well.................. ..........I will be placing an order shortly for some of your leaf-spring kits..................
  21. What?!?!?!?!?!........No updates? I hurried home from work today just to see if there was anything new..... .......J/K...... I did find a couple of those HW Diecast cars online.............I'm going to check around here at the local stores for some though.......Those wheels/tires on your Camaro have me all hyped up to get started on the '65 Impala SS...............
  22. NICE!!!!!!!----------- Lovin' the build so far.............
  23. ........Cool, thanks for the info.... Keep us updated on the builds!
  24. That's a cool tip Ron...... .....That looks very realistic.....
