  1. Tony T, the Whistler ride looks outstanding. If the SVO turns out as nice, you will have a great pair of FOXes. I will be keeping my eyes peeled for that build.
  2. 2 more days..........hope everyone is ready!
  3. So what would these pipes be considered? They were meant for a Hemi B-body, but flipped and the ends bent to clear the tires?
  4. These are some great units, and detail-painting will REALLY bring them to life. I ordered 4 of them in various configurations, and just by showing them still in the bags have generated some interest in them. They really are good pieces at a great price. I don't say this because Mike pays me to (he doesn't); I just think they are worthy of a good look and are well worth the purchase price.
  5. Jack, thanks for correcting me on the bar origins (I had both kits in front of me and mistook the DD kit for the 22JR kit). I am still working on collecting parts, so the build won't be started right away. I have about 15 pics of the car I need to go through as well (all of them are in as bad a shape or worse than the ones I posted) to determine just what all I will need for the build. Believe it or not, we don't have or know a lot of the cars history before coming to dads possession. After owning it since 1975, dads memories of the car are also a little hazy! Chris, That looks like an early RED, 225"? I like it, and think a reasonably close build could be made starting with the Garlits Swamp Rat 1R kit.
  6. As far as I remember them, yes the lines should be filled in.
  7. Thanks Chris.......the car is a 150" Chassis Research bar car built by Loghhe Stamping in 1964 and lengthened in 1965. It ran for a while in BB/R class with a blown Big Block Olds under the 'Glass Chariot' name (supposedly, the car was originally built as a fuel car for Dick Lahaie in 1964, but Dick has looked at the car and says it isn't his. Loghhe confirmed the car as one of his by the change in tube diameter forward of the firewall, but can't provide any real info on who it went to after his stretch job. Anyway, my dad ran the car in the mid 70s through the middle 80s at a lot of Michigan tracks with the 426 Hemi (in multiple types of induction through the years) and later a 440+6 engine. I grew up with this car firmly implanted in my psychie as I was at the track every weekend with dad and this car. The body is a narrowed fiberglass '27 T Roadster Pick-up body that was popular in the late 60s-early 70s, the paint is Medium Flake Mica Blue with lettering in White One-Shot. Headers were B-body Mopar units flipped with the 45* turndowns welded to turn the gases out away from the car. I have the 'Hippie Hemi' rail that will provide some of the tubing, the Tony Nancy 22JR kit for the Chassis Research rollbar pattern and the basic body, and the wheels/tires from the Hippie Hemi as well as widened Cragars for the rears. The fuel tank is a Pony Keg and I have one in scale. Hemi will come from a Revell 1967 GTX kit with a kitbashed tunnel-ram intake (unless I go with the later Hilborn Mechanical Fuel Injection unit he ran towards the end of the Hemis time in the rails). Fingernail Polish that I got at 'Hot Topic' is an almost dead match for the paint on the car. Most of the parts are here, I just have to find the time among all the other builds to get it done. Dads birthday present being the premise for this build might speed it on its way though.
  8. Well, my sister sent me a boatload of old pics yesterday, and among them were shots of my dads old 150" FED. These were taken somewhere is the 1976-79 timeframe, so please excuse the picture quality. I have most of the kits/supplies I need to scratchbuild/kitbash the car. I want to build it (and the Semi he drove.....that is in the CBP thread) and present it to him for his upcoming birthday. Wish me luck as I build slow, and he will be 71 this year! , , His birthday is in October. Maybe I had better hope for next October!
  9. Ok Matt, with all the FOX builds and the KW W900A build going........I think I might have to join this one as well. Reason? AMT re-issues the KW K123 and the Fruehauf Beaded Panel Dry Van kits (and I found a Thermo King unit off the original Reefer Fruehauf trailer). Why does this matter? vvv................................................................................vvv This is a pic my sister sent me of dads Semi around 1976 or so. It is a 1974ish K123 with a Cat 3408 and Torsion Bar rear suspension. The trailer is a Fruehauf reefer unit. I have talked to Eric (of Porkys) and he has the Torsion Bar system in resin. I can get the Budd 2-holers and some of the other little things to build this truck. I think Eric is also sending me the 3408, so it is completely buildable. Personally, I think this is a very nice looking truck (especially for back in 1976-77).
  10. It has the 5 spoke Daytons. I need a set of the two-hole Buds myself, or I will fancy it up by turning a spare set of tractor hubs down to trailer size and using the Chrome 15 holers.
  11. And I'll be working the night before the show..........I miss all the fun working weekends! I will be there Sunday though!
  12. Great kit overall, but be advised that the stance will have to come down 1/16th of an inch to correct the 'Cat pooing in the litterbox' stance it has from the box. Also, wider/taller wheels/tires will not fit into the too-narrow fender wells without a fight!
  13. Looks to be a very nice kit. I always thought the LFA was the next Supra, only in Lexus clothing. C'mon Toyota, we could use a new Supra!
  14. Just wait Howard, there have already been rumblings here in the U.S from Toyota and Honda about the costs going up and laying off American workers as the parts supply houses/manufacturers in Japan have been deeply impacted by the quake. If you can't get the parts to continue to build the cars..........
  15. We were at 68* this afternoon with thunderstorms. The cold front behind it is dropping us to 26* tonight with snow! High of 34* tomorrow and continued snow through Friday. So much for Spring being permanent. In Ohio, winter won't give up until late April!
  16. Tony, the SVO hoodscoop should be open to the intercooler below. Good to see some work getting done on the FOXes. I have been BUSY and haven't got the pics loaded to Photobucket yet. Thanks to you Canuckers for keeping the FOX love visual!
  17. 6 more days.
  18. Just think, 50" rims under a GM G-Body................makes you wonder if it is worth the effort to stuff $10,000.00 of wheels and tires under a $1,000.00 car.
  19. Thanks Roger, that is the info I was looking for. I am in the same boat Jared is, I haven't even picked a color yet (have a few bouncing around though). Yours is looking good so far Jared, thanks for making me think about mine enough to drag it back out!
  20. Ok, I have to admit to thinking that Pacer Wagon drag car is awesome!
  21. Thanks Jared. I still have my cab at the full length, but have cut my bed down 1 scale foot. I am wondering if I need to chop it one more scale foot of only 6". If it is 6", I think I can fix the wheelwell issue by just taking it out at the front portion of the wheelhouse/wheelwell.
  22. Jared; what front bumper are you using? And, should the shortbed be 6' or 6 and 1/2'?
  23. If it is a 3.8/Auto, 3.73:1s would be a MINIMUM gear. 4.10:1 would be a good choice for that small engine to get that fat chick moving. Before anyone comes in thinking I am being cruel, the SN95s weight between 300-500 pounds MORE than a comparable FOX.
  24. I'll send you one of my superdetailed SD40-2s to park it next to. Very nice indeed; too bad all H-O scale vehicles weren't this nice.
  25. Yeah, his earlier post stated he wanted 3.73:1 gears. On the 1999-2004 cars, they can use a set like that (fat ladies need to get their rears in gear to get some motion going!).
