I haven't done much in the line of completing a kit lately. I've about five projects in the works but the '57 Chrysler and Fourth generation Honda Prelude are the main focus right now and even these two are slow going. I recently moved and have been relegated to sitting on my bed or standing over a bookshelf to put some parts together. However I couldn't be happier with my ability to spray paint at my leisure (three coats per body with a sanding between coats. Yes! I'm honing my painting skills too.)... where before I was painting in the Florida summer heat, only on weekends, on a patio with no room to move around. In any event, the Prelude is being built to match my 1:1 daily driver. I was lucky enough to find a Fujimi Prelude kit ($40 on evilBay, but it was worth it due to an apparent rarity of the Fujimi kit). There is some modding that needs to be done to closely replicate my car. The interior center console and fender marker lights are about the biggest mods with the interior being a little more involved. The wheels are the biggest obstacle in the fact that no kit I've seen nor aftermarket rim seem to come close to stock Si alloy rims. The '57 Chrysler 300 has been completely "dechromed", painted flat black and will be dropped a few scale inches. The trunk will open and be fully... err... detailed. I'm going for a more "mid-restoration" rod look but I'll see what happens as it progresses. A little inspiration. Thanks for looking. More to come in the future.

Super sexy street machine!

I picked up a set of Hoppin' Hydros Low Pro's tires for a cheap price today at my LHS. After bringing them home and matching them up to the rims, I find they don't fit...So no big deal that they don't fit the extra rims that come with Revelle/Monogram's Tuner kits. But I'd like to know, does anyone know of any aftermarket tires that I can use with the extra rims from the tuner kits?

WOW! I've come across some off-the-wall-awesome builds, but this is tops! The jaguar hood ornament is in for a hell of a ride. Props on the flame job too.

These two kits are always parked together in a 1:18 scale display case. Thought I'd take them out for a photo op. They are both AMT kits and I built them about 12 years ago. The Burgundy Convertible has the dealer-installed A/C (picked up the A/C idea from one of my reference books). I scratch-built the compressor from styrene and the vents below the dash came from a kit (forget which one though!). I added the grill lights using a set of leftover marker lights. The '67 GT is all stock and is one of my all-time favorite cars. Thanks always for looking!

Ya know, Count, I can't recall why I bought it in the first place! I sat in the box for years until I got inspired with it... then it sat for a while longer. I'm happy with the way it turned out.

My first completed kit of the new year. The Beer Wagon kit was the base for this build. It evolved to what you see throughout the build as I had several concepts in mind for this build. The name always stuck as Mad Mack. All in all a fun build. Bashed together a few different kits, scratched a few parts. Not bad for my first weathering job, but practice makes for better builds in the future. Thanks for looking!

Starting out with the Beer Wagon as a base, I cut out the molded in engine and transmission. Replaced the Maltese Cross window panel with sheet styrene and added a bench seat. Painted steel and weathered with rust. The vents were painted white to resemble a canine grin. The rear suspension was trimmed slightly and used the existing chain-drive system which is driven by a parts-box rear end. An extra Hemi was dropped in with parts-box belt system and transmission. Exhaust used for intake stacks and intake stacks trimmed and inverted to build the exhaust headers. Header mock-up Engine Cab Chassis Engine Cab Still have exhaust stacks to install. Just installed a Fifth wheel. Beer Wagon taillights will become the front headlamps and parts-box lenses will light the rear. Still need to scratch up a visor and rear mudflaps. Used black wire for radiator hoses and simply routed them together (not going notice they have no where to go once the cab is installed). A few kits went into this build (and maybe one or two more as the build approaches completion)... Beer Wagon was the base for this kit and uses the chassis, cab, front and rear suspension and chain drive. AMT Plymouth GTX kit provided the Hemi and rear end. Ford Thunderbolt kit gave up it's tranny long ago and made it's way to being mated to the Hemi. Two Chevy Mailbu Street Machines donated the intake and exhaust stacks as well as the headers for 90 degree exhaust connections. '31 Ford Woody donated it's bench seat. Mystery kit parts from the parts-box include the tires, shifter, wheel backs, starter, carbs and fifth wheel. Sheet styrene for scratch-built parts. Thanks for looking!

The kit I bought myself with a bit of the X-mas cash. Just got it in the mail today! Can't wait until it's nice and shiny black like my 1:1!

Box stock... built 10 or 15 years ago...Testors paints...left the side skirts off...

No kits this year, but maybe a kit payed for with a gift card in the next few days.

Dunno what CBP means, but here's a few stock builds I built about 15 years ago.
