  1. Childress might be a good spot since it has a hobby shop and we have nothing here. Just have to have enough time to plan a trip. Might be able to bring a couple of guys with me. Russell
  2. Nice job, I like the color too. Russell
  3. I enjoyed it, I like a no frills kit every once in a while. I did not have any fit issues. I think some parts are too thick and it looses some of the realism. but overall it looks good. I am thinking about getting another and building as a hot rod style. Next time I need a no frills build. There is a report on it in the newest scale auto. Painting of course took longer than the build. Russell
  4. Sorry for the blurry pics. I used different decals than the ones that came with the kit. I may go back and BMF though. thanks for looking. Russell
  5. You did a great job, looks sharp. Russell
  6. Thanks for the history, I did not realize that was one of Bob Paeth's designs. Do you have a list of his designs? thanks, Russell
  7. I just finished this car last night, I posted in the underglass section before I saw this thread, but I thought I would post it here for fun. thanks for looking. Russell

  9. I use duplicolor as well, I Oreillys automotive seems to have the best selection around here, and I bought primer yesterday and it was about $3 cheaper than Autozone. Russell
  10. Great job. Russell
  11. Fireball 500, which was a Barris car and some 60's Nascar footage. Makes into a nice model as well. Russell

  15. Welcome and great job on the Vette. Russell
  16. I know what you mean, I pretty much only bought muscle cars and funny cars back when I was a kid. I guess thats why there are so few of these odd rods around anymore. But now, show cars is what I like the most. Russell
  17. This is the rare Koo Koo Kar, I picked up on ebay. It had lots of glue and pieces that had come apart in shipping. Took it apart, sanded and scraped and repainted. Its not perfect, but looks really good setting on my shelf. more pics on photobucket. thanks for looking. Russell
  18. There's a few of us in Abilene, Texas. We really do not have a model car club.....yet. Russell

  20. Thanks for the comments. If you get the chance buy and build it. It really was a fun quick build. Russell
  21. That looks great, seems like now when I go to the circle track races, I look at the cars and think you tore up a perfectly good mustang, monte carlo, chevelle or whatever to race it around the track and get tore up. You did a great job on that monte carlo though. Russell
  22. The kit is molded in white and the textures are there. Just add paint and your there. It was a fun kit to build and paint. Russell
  23. It's one of the new releases from Auto world. It was originally released in the 60's by AMT. The originals go for several hundred dollars, so I was really glad to see this one get rereleased. They just came out about 2 weeks ago. Russell
  24. Just finished Hope you like it. Russell
  25. Mostly same story for me, started out young in early 70's, then along came girls, real cars, work, marriage and kids. I got into Hot Wheels in 1988 and collected those for years. and slot cars. Then in about 1998, I was sick of all the bickering over new hot wheels so I mostly sold out and traded off what I had left. I went to a guys house to trade and he had several of the Tom Daniel cars, including the garbage truck. We traded and I have not stopped since. I still do slot cars as well. The reason the garbage truck struck a nerve is because my best friends older brother had a built one when I was a kid and I always thought that was the coolest model ever and of course I had no idea of the name or designer. But now I am trying to get all the Tom Daniel cars and build them. Russell
