Side scoops were painted and polished, masked, then, detailed with semi gloss black. The scoops and the rear wing where glued to the body, so, this is a picture of how everything looks until now. Now, I just have to detail the engine cover. This was also a little bit tricky. Tamiya tape as always to the rescue…Instruction sheet call for some semi gloss black, but, since the paint turned out so glossy a contrast is hard to see. To resolve this, I mixed some semi gloss black with some flat clear and I got what I wanted: Here we can see how it turned out. A simple model with a great aggressive look… More pictures in the Under Glass Section.. Simón P. Rivera Torres

After I finished with the buffing of the body, then, I moved to paint detail it. I used of my favorites paints to color the semi gloss black areas, Gunze Sangyo semi gloss black. Here I started to mask the side scoops: ...The windshield mouldings, grills, wing supports, etc: This was probably the most difficult section to detail, the front direction signals. I think it could be easier if it was molded as a separate part, a simple square to glued on or, perhaps it could be sanded but….this is a Box Stock, so, I won’t altered anything like this. I had to mask and use even aluminum foil for the body, due it was already polished and with some wax already. This is how it turned out… Simón P. Rivera Torres

After I finished with the chassis, bottom of the car, exhaust system, and the interior tub, I will move on to the last part…Body painting. I airbrushed 2-3 coats of the Scalefinishes Acrylic Enamel Gloss Black. The paint session was perfect, just some minor dust on the hood area. After some light sanding I have a surprise. To me, enamel its supposed to be thick, but, this great paint performed like lacquer and after a 48 hours drying period it was thin as lacquer and when I sanded the body I went through the paint to the primer in some spots. So, I had to give a couple of light airbrush coats. This time I got a perfect buffing and a great gloss on the paint..No clear needed! Simón P. Rivera Torres

Thi is some goodies I brought from 2 trips I had last year..let's see: From the GSL, basically suplies...Rod and tubing, paint mixing tray from Gunze, and a pack of stainless stell trumpets for I think just $2... I also got some Gunze lacquer colors I was out at home, also a supply of their primers line, so I don't have to be worried because if Tamiya delay or decied not to send theirs..besides, to me these ones works much better. Also I included some nice colors from the Scalefinishes booth at the show. Super glue bottle fine tips, some detailing parts and Modeler's racing harness complete the goodies. From the Family's Disney trip I got also some stuff from the days we didn't visit the parks... More metal suplies, drill bits, empty paint bottles, etc... Brass bars to help align tires at thte moment they are just glued. From UK, 2 great 1/43 models that will me preety soon on my workbench: The Tameo's Ferrari 126C3 1983 German G.P. and the Renault RS01 1977 Brithish G.P. Simón P. Rivera Torres

This is how my model turned out after a 3 months of on and off work. I decided to build it Box Stock. I painted it using Scalefinishes Acrylic Enamel Gloss Black, and details and interiors with Gunze Sangyo and Gaianotes Lacquers. Side Views: Overviews: Rear Views: Simón P.Rivera Torres

Ñooooo...this is imagination at its best...nice scratchbuilt project! Simón P. Rivera Torres -
Actually, I found this one on some old pictures Ihave from models I built in the late 90's. The second model in the left corner(the green one) is very rare and long out of production(1966)MPC 1/32 Porsche Carrera 6. Its a simple model car, but, it shows real nice the beautifull shape of the 906. This was the first model I painted using the then new Tamiya lacquers... Simón P. Rivera Torres

This is a great job in one of the historicals and not so famous Porches of all time. I remembered to see a couple at the Rennsport II at the Daytona speedway back in 2007 and these are good looking cars. As a matter of fact, in year 2000 I was doing the Monogram 904 and I bought a set of resin set of these wheels, but, I can't remember where I got'em. I'm not sure if it was from Replica& Miniatures of Maryland. Simón P. Rivera Torres

My friend, this should be a high end contest because you did a top notch job on this model...NIce,man! Simón P. Rivera Torres
-
Well...perhaps it should be that you're the owner of this forum...I feel you had read some real things that touch you and don't have how to pitch back!
-
John, you did it again, my buddy...This is a fine example of how a great model should look...This one smells like a 2013 GSL's Best of Show Award recipient! Simón P. Rivera Torres

That's what I'm trying, in case you haven't notice, but, they don't allow me!

If you check very well the opening, it doesn't mention the word FORUM..heelloo..but, Danny, the person that was supposed to answer me, did it the way it was supposed, very politely and I understand very well and it was all...But, as alway, there's someone that is looking for some rating and makes a silly issue of something so simple. If you look carefully, there is some fellow modelers asking for the address for it because it wasn't clear at the begginig, it just mention SCALEBUILDER. You know that if you are not registered, you can't enter...any person here can try to see if I'm right or not. As I told Rey privately, I don't enter in that forum and I don't care about what they do. If some of they are talking or not, I don't care. There's plenty of things to do in modelism to be doing things like this one you started. And about share my work, you know that you are talking with the wrong person, because, you know thae kind of work I had posted here before, even, living outside the states, had been in more shows in the states sharing my work than you, or I'm wrong in that too...More people here know me personally than you and can tell the truth, just in case you won't beleive me..starting with "Mi pana" Gregg...Gregg, I would like to hear your thoughs about this. To my friends here, sorry to try to clear this here with this guy, but, since he don't like to do in private, I have so clear it by myself because some of you guys knows me in person and I'm pretty sure we haven't had any issues like this. Now, I invite you guys to continue taking part of the poll and vote for the model you like the most.

Hey Kevin, I didn't know this was a poll with models from another forum from Puerto Rico and to me was really weird I didn't see not just some of the great models John has offered us through the year, if not also, some others that also started live here and that even had won top awards in some of the best model car shows in the nation. That was all. It was something that was strange to me since it doesn't tell anything at the top of the post, but, Danny Rodriguez(the person started the poll here)cleared it to my and everything ended there. It just says SCALEBUILDERS, but, not from where or what are SCALEBUILDERS. I think it could be a great idea to have also the model of the month here and pick the modelof the year also. Other forum also do it too. Simón P. Rivera Torres

Mire compi, It was more than clear with my good friend Danny, that it was an exclusive poll for the Scalebuilders model of the month. I didn't have any idea about that these are models from another outside forum(really weird). And I don't really aware of anything happening it that forum because as you should know, I'm not part, and never will be, part of that forum. Ponte a bregar en los modelos y deja de estar llevando siempre bochinches! Simón P. Rivera Torres

Oh yesss...something different from what we see around every day..Curt, as always, you did a great and clean work! Simón P. Rivera Torres
