  1. As always, thanks a lot for take from your time to take alook to this post. It's like to feel all the happiness I have with this. I didn't know that some of you guys, besides Ismael here in Puerto Rico, had seen the model in person. Best Regards Simon Rivera
  2. I have not words for this impressive build, I just have tears in my eyes after seen what my good friend did with a model of my favorite maker: Porsche!....What I can say Ismael, now I will have to make a Corvette to return you the favor after I wipe my tears.... Simon Rivera
  3. Do you guys remember this model I posted some weeks ago? http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3821 I was surprised that after some of my friends told me that some of my models made it to the current MCM contest annual issue in the Heartland Nationals section, I opened it yesterday and saw the model on pg 40. A whole page for this tiny 1/43 scale model!...I don't know, this is not I saw any of my models on a whole page, but, for me was very a special moment. This is one of the best rewards our hobby can give us, see any of your models in a national publication like it's Model Cars Magazine. Thanks Gregg and your great team for select it. Simon Rivera

  8. Louis: Just let us when you will come to the island and we will have a great get together. Just in case, there are no hobby shops in Caguas, the one you are talking about it's between Hato Rey and Guaynabo. Simon Rivera
  9. This is my version of the famous IROC Porsche Jagermeister built using the Fujimi Porsche '74 911 RSR. I know it's not the correct body, but it was built almost 10 years ago when I didn't have computer or any internet acces and I bought this kit calling to Japan because it looked like nobody in the states had this kit, so, I call the people of Mr. Craft in Tokio. I used for the model the Model Car World Jagermeister color. It's a turning point for me because, I airbrushed paint for the very first time with a metal airbrush-the Badger Crescendo 175. I also used several maker Jaegermeiter decals. [ Simon Rivera
  10. This is my build of the 1/24 Union Ferrari 330 P4. This was the car that placed 2nd at the 1967 Le Mans. The now available Fujimi kit was in the limbo for some time, but, now is avilable. A couple of years ago I wanted to have a 330 P4 in my collection, so, the only options I had was either try a 1/43, wich I saw real expesive( I saw $700 and a $2,000 kits) or the option I took, the old Union(original Heller)version. With this one I had to do a lot of add on parts, and some scratchbuilding. I used the recommeded color for it, lacquer Gunze Sangyo Mr. Color Red Madder, which I was lucky enough to get one of the last jars from greatmodels.com. Here is it with some my other historical racers, the Wave(heller) Le Mans 1969 2nd place Porsche 908LH and the old IMC 1964 Le Mans GT-40. Simon Rivera

  18. Beauuuuutiful retauration of this classic. A question, who made this model back in'64? Simon Rivera
  19. You could also try to look for Finisher's Formula Red. This is a 2 bottle paints set used to recreate the Ferrari F310B Malboro Red. I got my Finisher's paints from Rainbowten.com in Japan. I don't know if it's the correct match, but, could give it a try, pretty nice stuff, the best paint I've used ever. Simon Rivera

  23. This is the 1/24 Italeri Ferrari 250GT California Spyder. It's build took me around 7 months to build. The model it's called by me the "International", because, I got the model on yahoo auctions in Japan(you guys knows this is a hard to find), the steering wheel from Reinnasance in France, the Tecnomodel wheels in sweden, and the awesome Ferrari engine kit, the interior of the doors, windows cranks ans seats in U.S.A. by Replicas & Miniatures of Maryland. The model was painted with Tamiya TS-8 Italian Red with no clear. Besides the engine kit, I added some extra wiring and plumbing for the engine. The long time inside the box messed up some of the decals, so, I had to add a computer generated license plate decal and the front badge decal from a formula model. It's by far my succesfull model. It got on it's debut in the first local chapater IPMS show the director's pick award, something like the best in show. After that, I took the model to the 2003 T.A.M.S. show in Norfolk,VA, and it took there the first place in Factory Stock 60's-70's. Most people there told that the model was considered to the Best of Show Award as it can be read in the Model Cars Mag Feb/Mar 2005 pg.52 isuue. But the big award was ahead. In 2004 it doesn't just took a top 15 award in the important Birmingham Classc show, it also took the Best of Show, what was to me, the most unforgetable moment of my life as a modeler. That moment when the award was called it still running in my mind each time I see something related to the model. Latetly, I took the model to the 2005 GSL and was well looked there as made it several times to some of the model car publications as is Model Cars Mag. Last year it took 4th place in Factory Stock at the Heartland Nationals in Overland Park, Kansas. Here's are a couple of pictures of the model in detail. Simon Rivera
  24. OK Mike thanks. I thought something like that 'cause I hadn't see anything like this around. Simon Rivera
