  1. How absolutely horrible. The ultimate violation of your sanctity short of murder. I agree with Jim, it might be smart to change the locks, just in case. You can also rig a bell to sound during your absence on your windows and doors. I've seen articles on do-it-yourself Internet sites, Popular Mechanics and the like. Your safety and peace of mind will come back. Don't let these cretans get the better of you. Charlie Larkin
  2. Looking good, Mike. Charlie Larkin
  3. Nice job, Lee. Charlie Larkin
  4. Mike, in place of brass rod for the hinge-pins, perhaps you could use what I think are called leg-levelers, if you can get one small enough. These are two screw-headed fasteners. One has female threads, one has male threads. If you can find one small enough, that would work. Beyond that, probably the next best thing would be four microscopic machine screws with nuts. If you fill the slots in and round off the nuts, they'll even look like the factory hinge pins. Charlie Larkin
  5. I substitute-taught in Wareham last school year while I was still in New Bedford, before returning home to Marlborough. Great town overall. Stick around, you'll learn a lot here. Charlie Larkin
  6. Now THAT looks good! Nice job on this one! Charlie Larkin
  7. It was rather chilly this week, wasn't it? Nice job, Mike, and the lighting and frosted car roof work nicely together. Charlie Larkin
  8. Nice work. Consider bringing it up to MassCar in March in Taunton. Only 30 minutes up 495! Charlie Larkin
  9. Very cool! It even sounds like a scaled-down V8 instead of an overgrown chainsaw. Charlie Larkin
  10. Nice work on the bean-bags, Mike. The whole project is coming out very nicely. Charlie Larkin
  11. Nice-looking body, Ian. This is going to be a knock-out when it's done. Charlie Larkin
  12. 20/20 hindsight, such a wonderful thing to have sometimes. Oh well. It still looks good, Mike, and this will be another fine model of yours once it's done. Charlie Larkin
  13. Perhaps AMT or Revell, whoever made that kit, should have charged Firestone royalties or worked out a swap. Oh wait....that would be beneficial to the hobby. Nevermind. Charlie Larkin
  14. Cool idea to make the bean-bags, Mike. Usually, it's vinyl simulating leather, not the other way around! This is a remarkable build. I've enjoyed watching it come along. Charlie Larkin
  15. Excellent interior. Charlie Larkin
  16. First update of 2011! I decided to take advantage of the warm weather and blow a coat of primer on the AMT '69 Olds 4-4-2 I'm working on. Notice the snow as a contrast to the roughly fifty-degree weather. I'm not sure what the primer is (lacquer or enamel,) but I'm not worried as I'll simply be top-coating it with Testors black enamel. Charlie Larkin
  17. Very nice, Sam. That's a handsome color combination on the wagons; I was toying with doing mine in that. Charlie Larkin

    69 Galaxie

This was quick. Came out nicely. Charlie Larkin
  19. I had this happen a few times too. I'm also experiencing while not "painfully" slow, a little slower than usual response. Hmmm.....drunken hardware. There's a new idea; must've started partying a little early based on Wednesday or Thursday's performance... Charlie Larkin
  20. Neat build, Rob. I'll keep an eye on this. Charlie Larkin
  21. Please....don't give them any bad ideas.... Charlie Larkin
  22. Ian, The Tamiya paints in the round bottles are acrylic (they also make a line of solvent-based paints that aren't easily found in the U.S.,) and they work well. The best approach for doing the letters is dry-brushing. Charlie Larkin
  23. Very nice, Joe. I vote for red wheels (correct) and some underhood pictures, too. Charlie Larkin
  24. Nice job on this. Welcome to the forum. Charlie Larkin
  25. Some very nice builds, Ryan. Look great. Charlie Larkin
