  1. Mark, this is a great idea, and I haven't built a lowrider yet, I think this is a great chance. Count me in!
  2. I think the MACHETE is the perfect weapon to do hand-to-hand combat with those pesky Zombies.
  3. Luis, love the car and love the stance too. These vehicles make great cavasses for paint. Can't wait.
  4. Another mocking up session with the Willys shoes, which I am leaving in chrome . . . Here's the body . . . .
  5. In recent years (since switching to the AB as my main paint source) this is the way I like to build. Simplify things by building and gluing up the chassis and then painting all the parts with the AB . . . Here's the Hemi mocked up on the shortened chassis . . .
  6. Here's another angle of the shortened frame. It's all going to be painted in semi gloss black . . . simple enough. Other than all the body chrome bits that will go on at the end, here's the spread of the parts that will go into primer and paint shortly . . . There are also some after market parts like the wired distributor that's missing . . .
  7. Well, here's the progress on the new build. I took the 41 Willys frame and modified it to fit under the Cobra. I also had to modify the wheel wells in the rear and open the hood . . . all in a all a couple of day's worth of work so far . . . I am also using the Hemi from the Revell 41 Willys kit. I've always loved that engine and if I had a dollar for every time I've used it, I could by another dozen kits. The frame modification was simple enough and it's given me the confidence to be able to use this chassis under a whole bunch of vehicles. This is not the gasser frame, but the street rod . . . The rest of the build is just getting all the other Cobra kit parts ready . . .
  8. I'm glad I didn't miss this one. Beautiful, and the decals really stand out on such a beautifully built model. Congrats.
  9. And finally the real stinky and infamous:
  10. And the some recent work:
  11. Here are some early rats to come out of the Lab-RAT-ory:
  12. LOL, I think someone out there is probably making stop-motion animations with these. Thanks for sharing.
  13. Wow, I find it amazing you can do that to a diecast. Love the scene, buddy. Nice work, although the pictures are a little blurry.
  14. Tell me about it, Jeff, I should have.
  15. That would be a miracle!
  16. Dan, yes, you are right and it's also what Donn warned me about, and that is NOT to mix it directly into the color because the color will swallow it up. It's best to apply with the clear, which is what I do, and it's the results you want. Glad to hear you re getting good results with Future. Best, DC
  17. Great new progress, everyone. Things are moving along at a great clip. We almost have 100 pages of pure eye candy, and over 115 builders. Who would have expected such madness? I did! LOL!
  18. All right, the third COBRA is in the works, and this one is going to be different. Stay tuned in for some progress pictures.
  19. Oh boy you are off to a great start. Keep it going.
  20. Jim, the siphon feed is good because you can hold on to the bottle (lots of AB artist give that reason for liking them) and steady your hand. Personally I like gravity because I don't have the bottle in my way. It's a matter of what will feel good for you. My recommendation too after you get it, is to live with the AB for a couple of weeks. Carry it around in your hand, get a feel for it. Also, practice using cheap paint or India ink to get a feel for air pressure and distance from the subject, etc . . . very exciting. Keep us posted.
  21. LOL, I got all the progress pics so far, folks. Keep the eye candy coming. See you guys tomorrow. Cheers, DC
  22. Thanks, Frank. I am making progress on the third snake, and this one is going to be very different.
  23. Phil, I do most of my detail work with the Eclipse, but I've also gotten some fine details with the Micron C, which is great for graphics. The Eclipse will do graphics too but it's a better contender for overall paint jobs.
  24. Andy, I've never really worked with the Badger, but I think it's an excellent airbrush. So much of the right AB has to do with the feel of it in the individual's hands. It's what you feel good with, that simple. I started with the Paasche and I've always liked it. But the Iwata has been really useful to me at the bench.
