  1. Thanks for the headsup on the glass, Donn. Yes, I am sure that interior will do me in. Then again it's usually my favorite part of the kit.
  2. LOL, Steve, I've always considered it great therapy. You know how many thousand of dollars I have saved in therapy? Money I can then spend on more styrene. HA!
  3. Consider it done, next time I'm at Books a Million, I will ask the manager to order it. And, of course, my local hobby shop which is a Hobby Town.
  4. Wayne, FABULOUS job. Outstanding camo on that vehicle. Lots of great effects and details. Congratulations. I copied the pics to the video archive.
  5. John, welcome to the forum. Oh man, that color would look really nice on the 50 Chevy, or the 50 Ford for that matter. Get it going and post some of your eye candy. Best, DC
  6. Glenn, nothing wrong with starting out with RUST! Of course, don't ask Jim. He is so young that whatever he wants to build is fine. It's great to see kids really enjoying the principle nature of models, which is having fun and building them! Donn, I know, I know and I've been wanting to go in there and go blind with the shine. Actually, I am hoping to make it down there some time this year.
  7. Here's the completed chassis . . . just waiting on a few more parts to dry and then assembly can continue. This kit really calls out for decals. i don't know what it is, but I think I am going to put decals on this one like I did the last one, but possibly fewer and different stuff. I'm waiting on my Slixx Decals to arrive. Stay tuned in for more progress.
  8. Well, as it usually happens, once Doctor Cranky falls in love with a kit, he will build several, so this is the second Shelby Cobra in progress and who knows how many more I will do. It's a wonderful and easy kit to build, certainly a blahs breaker! Once again, I mixed my own color using metallic green with a bit of lime pearl and some Pearl Ex transference gold, transference blue, and sparkly gold. You can see some of the blue shimmering here:
  9. Here's a new body painted . . . I am hoping this will be my first 62 Imp. finally finished . . .
  10. Welcome to the forum, Donovan, and to the TZH Squad. Bring it on. We are all posting progress pictures as we go along. A few folks have finished their first vehicles and have moved on to building more. Cheers, and we look forward to your build (s).
  11. Ira, your stuff is always so inspiring and smart too. Great going. Keep it going.
  12. Thanks for the information. Darn it, I want to make it down for that show, but I can't this year. Besides, I've always wanted to visit the museum!
  13. The world fastest diesel car: Quicker than a bullet:
  14. Patrick, you can mix a little bit of india ink and 50-50 alcohol water and use that. But, there are also wonderful weathering solutions out there the likes of AK-INTERACTIVE "black wash" and Vallejo Acrylics offers a wonderful black was too.
  15. Oh man, these are beautiful. Lots of eye candy to pour over. Thank you for sharing it. And those choppers look right at home in such a scene. Wow.
  16. Terry, I am hoping that the kit will go on sale with discounts sooner or later. Gee, if they would only offer AARP discounts on model kits!
  17. Wat u tal-kin' bout, Mike? EYEGORE's FORMULA for staying young and healthy on this forum: HUMOR + EYE CANDY HUNGER = STYRENE ADDICTION!
  18. Randy, beautiful work. Nice model. Congrats. I love the color on it and the way you've added all the right graphics. Excellent.
  19. Walter, welcome to the forum, and WOW, beautiful model. I love it. The dust on it is very well done, not to mention the other weathering techniques. Very nice. Thank you for sharing your eye candy with us.
  20. Charlie, if you had read them all you'd be as insane as I am!
  21. Thanks, Ira, the next one is already in paint and I am waiting for it to gas out before I cut and buff it, shine it up real good. Stay tuned in for progress.
  22. Thanks, everyone. Tom, you gotta let me know when there are shows out in your area. Best, DC
  23. Jeffrey, it's all a matter of personal choice, you know . . . sometimes the subject matter chooses you. Welcome to the forum and I look forward to seeing lots of your builds in progress and otherwise. Look around and share your eye candy with us. Best wishes and happy styrene journeys!
  24. It really is a great chronicle of how many different takes on the subject are out there. And folks keep on coming. It must be that hunger for Toothless Zombie Hunting!
