  1. Love it! Delightful model!
  2. Oh yes, lots of that! A-Haw, Haw, Haw, Haw!
  3. Tom, ideally the amp and guitar would go in the trunk, but instead I put the moon tank in there and scattered some magazines. They help draw the eye in to the area.
  4. Thanks, everyone. Donn, I am going to hold off building any more of them until next year when I will build one every month. Crazy? Yes. Fun, I hope so.
  5. LOL, thank you everyone. I think ZZ TOP's MUSIC is the perfect sound track for building rat rods as well as hot rods. I also love Jimmy Vaughn's music too.
  6. Thanks, Harry, that's a P.E. from Detail Master, I believe. One sheet brings a whole bunch of badges and emblems that are perfect for this kind of thing. I sure did have fun building this one, and I look forward to building a few more.
  7. Thanks, Ron. Actually if you want to see all the pictures of this build, you can go here: http://public.fotki.com/vsuarez666/voodoo-customs-chop-shop/models-1/crossroads-blues-32/
  8. Delighted to hear you all liked it.
  9. Thank you all. Maybe I will do a how-to build an amplifier. Best, DC
  10. The feeling is mutual, my friend. I hope so.
  11. Thanks, everyone. Gabriel, I scratch-built the amp. Styrene, watch parts, and some photo etch elements, the rest is paint and mesh.
  12. Ah, yes, now I get it, Ron. You were talking about the driver's door. Yes, well, here's the truth. I messed up when I was lining up the template to shoot the graphic, so I masked the door and shot primer to cover up the mistake, and then airbrushed the graphic again, made it look like what would happen in real life, I guess. The mistake turned into a different result I could live with.
  13. Matti, thanks. Interesting you think that is black in color. Would you believe that there's very little black black in this build. It's all dark grey, blue, and quite a bit of Nato black, which is a very dark grey.
  14. My favorite picture. Sometimes we build these darn tootin' models just for a moment like this:
  15. Hopefully these are better pictures, and I have in fact taken a few from different angles. I also went ahead and tagged it with a dedication. For all the years of killer music playing in the background of the Lab-RAT-ory.
  16. Ron, what do you mean, white out? Part of the problem with a dark subject is getting the light just right. I've had a heck of a time. In fact, I've taken a few more pictures and added a couple more details. Stay tuned in for those.
  17. Here are a few more: The guitar sort of matches the ride and it too is a little beat up but it still sounds good . . . between it and the sound of this engine, it's a sweet song: A-HAW, HAW, HAW, HAW!
  18. I am delighted to say I thoroughly enjoyed this build, and it won't be the last I build with this kit. Hope everyone gives it a try. Enjoy and thank you all for the positive energy:
  19. All right, my friends, this one is pretty much done. I added details up until the last minute, including some body work on the rear passenger fender, and scratch-built the amplifier and a new guitar for Mr. Gibbons. I am posting the new pics over in UNDER GLASS. Here's the link: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=70241
  20. Dave, the guitar came with the kit. One of those "sweet" extras they threw in. Right now I am building an amplifier for the guitar, and the painting has begun.
  21. Thanks, everyone. All that is missing now is the guitar, and this one will be done.
  22. Who could it be? Who could it be?
  23. Looking good so far, Walt.
  24. Derick, those are good ideas.
