  1. Liking it a lot. Keep it going.
  2. Lots of great details and attitude with this one. You did good. You did GOOD!
  3. You are only saying that to get me to write another article!
  4. Thank you, Harry.
  5. Thanks, Tony . . . here's just a bit more . . . once I get to this point on a build, it becomes very dangerous for Doctor Cranky because he gets anxious and WANTS to do it all in one night . . . Ssshhh, don't tell him anything, he doesn't know he is OCD.
  6. This is my favorite side and angle . . . I think the crud and grime on the fender turned out well . . .
  7. Just as I suspected the little details of the interior really catch the eye when the whole thing is put together . . . I'm liking this so far . . . That bottle label reads "CRANKY SAUCE" believe it or not.
  8. I think this is some of the most fun I've had detailing and weathering a trashed interior and trunk compartment . . ..
  9. Here's some more progress tonight: The interior is supposed to be trashed, but also frequented by someone who is up to no good!
  10. Doctor Cranky LOVES it!!! Good going.
  11. Thank you, John, for your kindest words. It's fun to build knowing there's an audience of other styrene addicts out there!
  12. Here's some work on the rolling chassis and the interior . . . the interior HAS received some pigments and real dirt . . . not to mention some broken glass (a mixture of real lightbulb glass and rock salt):
  13. Believe it or not, no weathering has begun with either washes nor pigments . . . and I am beginning to wonder if the airbrush might not be just enough for such builds . . . (what would Doctor Cranky say? "ARE YOU OUTTA YOUR MIND?)
  14. Here's some progress being made in Doctor Cranky's Lab-RAT-Ory: A little graffiti on these suckers goes a long ways to capture a bit of realism . . . A bit of glass and some wire in the headlight sockets . . . just what the Good Doctor ordered . . .
  15. Greetings folks, happy DCEFCF TGIF! I know a few of you are following along with this build, but here's the latest installment.
  16. Thanks, Brian . . . salt can stick on there, but remember you can disolve it with water. I usually scrub it off under running cold water quickly, and then it comes off.
  17. Thanks, everyone, all the basic components are now painted, so the weathering fun will begin shortly. Stay tuned in for more pics . . . Oh, and I am also working on the base for this one. A little vignette never huwrt anybody, that's what Doctor Cranky says.
  18. I just posted the link, buddy. Yeah, it would be great for such small parts . . . they have bigger units but they cost more. I would imagine those engines need a good cleaning every once in a while.
  19. Here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001DKDAVW/ref=oss_product I'm just sorry I didn't think of this a couple of years ago to save myself on all that cleaning frustration. Again, keep in mind that the machine is NOT going to do heavy cleaning in removing gunked up paint. You have to help it along by wiping down all the parts, and then the machine does the micro cleaning, and at that it does an EXCELLENT job.
  20. Here are the specs on the model number I got: Ultrasonic Cleaner (CD-2800) Dimensions: 20X12.5X14cm Tank size: 600ml Timer setting: 3 minutes I have already cleaned my 3 guns, and I left them in the window cleaning/hand soap solution for a couple of hours, doing a few rounds of the 3 minutes. The guns come out brand spanking new. Next Doctor Cranky is going to clean his dentures, his neck bolts, and gold goggles! I will list what I paid for this machine in the next post. I gotta go find out.
  21. Wow, great engines . . . this ride is coming along nicely.
  22. Got my airbrush cleaning machine in the mail today and took it for a spin. It WORKS beautifully! I've already cleaned my guns and they look brand new. Thanks Mr. Chung!!!
  23. Love the paint. Do you have more pics.
  24. Oh that paint looks great, lots of sparkle in it.
