  1. What a great collection of gorgeous vehicles, Dave. Wow. Fine work on all of them!!! Thanks for the tips. I have to say you can never give Plastikote gray primer enough credit. What a great primer that is!
  2. While everything dries, I painted some of the main engine components and assembled them . . .
  3. I airbrushed a bit of gray/white on the hood in order to apply some rubon lettering . . . with its name on there . . . these come from Woodland Scenics . . . After this process, I will respray with rust, then add the salt, and then remove the rubon letters with tape, and the name should come through . . .
  4. I think it snowed last night in Florida . . .
  5. Here's some more progress . . . I airbrushed my usual rust color on the body and chassis . .. Next up is the salt!
  6. I wake up ultra early and go to bed late, in other words, I'm an insomniac!
  7. I got all the engine components ready to go . . . ready for primer . . . I expanded the rear axle so that the rear tires would look right under the body . . . And they do . . .
  8. Ooh, I like the color contrast. Some good detailing, buddy. Keep it going.
  9. All right, maties, I got all the parts cleaned and ready for primer. I never get tired of being amazed at how wonderful this Revell 41 Willys kit is. It's got to be one of my faves on my TOP 5 list!!! Stay tuned in for pics . . .
  10. Oh, my, that is looking perfectly original and well executed. Like I said, there's no other model out there like it!!!
  11. Thanks, folks, this project should be fun . . . I hope. The tires came from Replicas & Miniatures of Maryland. Also, you can get them through Modelhaus. The difference is R&MofM are rubber.
  12. Geez, after all these years of building I keep coming back to the same kits . . . which is why I'm trying my best not to repeat myself . . . This one will be totally different than these two . . . I promise . . .
  13. Ok, here we go again, another build in progress, and I hope this one will live in infamy if I can get to pull it off. Hope it will live up to its name . . . We'll see how it will go . . . and this is what I got so far . . . just cutting, mocking, and having fun so far . . . I've made room for four Caddy brake lights . . . I cut the top because I want the interior to be seen and you need to see why . . . I already made spacers to get the rear tires to come out a bit more . . . these are a set of big & little wide whites I had in my spare parts box . . .
  14. Ha! So true, and it almost cost me the whole build too. I don't know why I always forget to glue them last . . . this is like the third time I do this . . . I guess you can't teach an Old Cranky Goat new tricks, eh?
  15. You gotta keep sharing, buddy. Eye candy is this forum's economy and we want our economy to be strong. It's all about the eye candy. More, more, more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Again, thank you all very much!
  17. Gorgeous paintjob, buddy. Can't wait to see more.
  18. Thanks, maties . . . no, there won't be a base for this one. I think I'm just going to move on to my next project, which came to me in a dream last night. I'm bracing for some interesting building ahead. Stay tuned in!!! THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR INPUT!!!
  19. That looks fabulous!
  20. Thanks, I really appreciate the comments . . .
  21. Some great touches on this build so far, buddy. Keep it going.
  22. Just a few more . . . you know there's always more . . . Of course I just realized I still have to install the door handles! LOL!
  23. Here are the finished pics of OLD RED. I almost threw it out this afternoon when I thought I had lost it with the interior, but I'm glad I didn't . . . I used the airbrush to give it a final detailing . . .
  24. Thank you, friends, for your comments and inspiration. Stay tuned in for more progress, for this one is just about done although tragedy almost struck when I went to place the interior tub into the body. It took several attempts and broken pieces to get everything to fit just right. Luckily with a little bit of touch up paint you could hardly tell the difference. Stay tuned in for one final round of eye candy. Again, thanks . . .
  25. Oh, no, I love the skull idea . . . ROADKILL!!! You are thinking outside the box and it's going to pay off . . . you are also going to end up with a model that nobody else in the world has done! Congrats and keep it going, buddy.
