  1. I got a set of big & little white walls from The Modelhaus which I think are going to be perfect for the look I'm after . . .
  2. Once all the parts are in stock and assembly begins, I always can't resist primer . . . so here's where I'm at with the different components . . . it really helps form a clear vision of where a build goes . . . The horns (can you take this bull by the horn?) look like arms for the skull but I hope once I put some color on there and some other details that it will not look like ARMS.
  3. Reaching into my spares box is always about the most fun I can have right after dinner time . . . we all do this, pick through and take inventory of parts we definitely have to use . . . Like bull horns . . . hey, why not? And the skull with the German helmet as grill ornament is the perfect detail . . . More louvers and a Moontank . . .
  4. I got the kit and suddenly I started thinking of the color RED. I'm seeing red as in Dante's Inferno! Stay tuned in . . . When a kit like this Revell Limitied Editon 32 5 window coupe comes out, I always see it as yet another chance to build something for my collection. What I like about this kit is that it's got all the personality it needs without having to chop the top. Besides, most of the hot and rat rods I have in my collection are chopped, so why not leave this one alone. That's what the head nurse said when she spoke up. Anyhoo, I also starting thinking of building it out of the box but giving it some of its own touches and attitude. Finned brake drums, some louvers, and some details from the also brand new ROMMEL'S ROD. So things started to shape up nicely . . .
  5. After five coats of clear, this sucker is ready for finishing and detailing. I'm really excited to see it with its shoes on!!! Here's a picture to show a little bit of the depth and reflection of the clear . . .
  6. Thanks, J. We stand corrected. Yeah, the Boothill Express skeleton is better for the parts, but these skulls with helmets, well, what can I say? They are irresistible.
  7. Killer paintjobs! Congrats!
  8. I just got it for the few neat parts . . . to use them in the rat rod shop!!!
  9. Perfect! Hollywood Jim just pointed out there are no front ribs on these skeletons, but I guess they would not be difficult to build
  10. I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this kit. THANKS REVELL, thanks Tom Daniel! Here are some pics . . . Like I said I bought it for the skeletons!
  11. That brings up an interesting point for those of us who grew up in the era of the big fins and big grills . . . BIG CHROME. All these cars used to scare me as a kid. I always thought they looked like animals!!!
  12. Or Tommy Guns and ammo!
  13. WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWWOWOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love it. You are a wonderful, creative builder, buddy. I'd never get tired of seeing your stuff. You gotta share more. Do you have a Fotki or Photobucket album I can look at and admire more of your work?
  14. I'm amazed at how unafraid you are to chop, cut, and bond all those parts into what looks so far to be a great build! Keep it going.
  15. Thanks, chaps. LOL, a Norelco.
  16. Something new on the bench--FINALLY!!! I love customs with toothy smiles, and this one happens thanks to the good products at THE MODELHAUS!!! I still have to put on the clear, buff and add the foil . . .
  17. I built my share of these kits when I was a kid, but with the Rommel, just to have the skeleton figures is payoff enough for me. It brings 2, so we'll be seeing more of them driving rat rots, etc . . . I agree with Harry. Anything that makes people support the hobby is fine in my book.
  18. I like where this is all headed. Can't wait to see more of the build.
  19. Gorgeous, well-executed work, buddy. Can't wait to see more!
  20. Hobby Link Japan is an amazing place. Check it out, and they get stuff out prompt! For kits, I always go to www.modelroundup.com They are simply the best!
  21. Delighted to hear it, Chuck. Have you posted pictures of it here to this forum? Let me know.
  22. I think at the next show everyone should shave their heads . . .

    The Joker

I'd like to second all the praise and say CONGRATS on a fabulous paint job. Clean, smooth lines all around. Excellent!!!
  24. Hey there, John, man, I really like the way this one turned out . . .and it's perfect in terms of its believable uses . . . it's a daily driver, a shop parts carrier, and a resto-in-progress. I think you did a great job on making the paint look reaslitically weathered. I hope to see more . . . obviously you are not just going to build one of these in your career as a modeler, so get started on the next one. CONGRATULATIONS, buddy.
  25. Wow, buddy, what a gorgeous, flawless build. Those white walls add a wonderful classy accent to the build.
