  1. House of Kolor has a new chrome system that comes fairly close. I like it better than Alclad though it works on a similar principle. You have to provide a shiny smooth surface and apply two light coats and then stop. Less is more. In the system they have Mirror Krome, Aluminum, Bronze, Gold and I want to say Copper too . . .
  2. Yes, indeed, that's looking great!!!
  3. You've captured just the right "cranky" look, Harry!!!
  4. Yeah, I know. I am deep into a build-something-shiny mood!!! The logo is the work of our very own Harrypri! It's my logo/trademark for when I become rich and famous!!!
  5. Thanks, Tom!
  6. Well, maties, after a little break from the rusty rats I've been building, I returned from the Alabama show inspired by the amazing work of so many builders, but in particular Steve Boutte and Ted "Chopper" Lear, so I got a little project started. Tom Kren's Merc also served as inspiration for sure!!! Not much so far other than the body work (I took the lazy way and used--ONCE AGAIN!!!--the 49 Merc!), but the important thing was to get the paint just right. It's a combination of House of Kolor tangelo and sunset pearls for the base coat, then pagan gold and spanish gold for a little depth, about six coats of clear, the last two mixed in with some pearls . . . which are only visible in the sunlight . . . The grill, hubcaps, and all the chrome work is done in House of Kolor chrome effects . . . Stay tuned in for more . . .
