  1. Everytime I get my jaw off the floor and back in place, it drops again!!! WOW, that's all I can say. Keep it going!!!
  2. I vouch for my Canon Powershot S3 SI. In a few years I am going to upgrade to a Canon 9G. Great little cameras. I also have a Nikon D80 that's also wonderful. I'd say have fun doing the research and inform yourself. You are going to find a great deal, that's for sure. I've heard Ritz Camera is going out of busines. You might want to start there. Or go to D&H Electronics. Good luck.
  3. Cranky's proud!!! I love it. Those green accents against the rust are way WAY WAY WAY cool!!! Congrats!
  4. I like the color. Nice. Did you know that Duplicolor is now putting out a line of their paint in quarts? I mention it because they have their infamous Glitter Effex in quart sizes, ready to spray, but if you are using an airbrush you need to reduce it . . . .
  5. Oh, man, I like this idea. Keep it going, buddy.
  6. Keep it going, it's looking mean and lean!!!
  7. Oh, man, what a great idea. Run with it. Soar! Can't wait to see more!!! Who says I am not a poet?
  8. I love it. You've done a great job reproducing the right look. Congrats. Now all you have to do is photoshop it against that salt flats terrain. Congrats!!!
  9. Thanks, folks. Yeah, this shiny stuff can be addicting, although having said that I still have to paint everything else and put these babies together!
  10. Cranky's Workshop production is still in high gear, next up we have what I am simply calling "Mystic" Starliner . . . done with some simple graphics and lavendar and oriental blue kandies . . .
  11. I've been using Dupont Spot Clear over my HOK paintjobs for several years with good results--or at least I think they are good results.
  12. It's a masterpiece, Dave. Pure eye candy!
  13. Yes indeed, you can find it over in Ken Hamilton Fotki archives . . . great stuff!
  14. Wow, some of these projects are jaw-droppers! Great work!
  15. Plastikote is my first choice in primers . . . all their colors, but I prefer grey. I use that exclusively these days. I usually let the paint gas out over night, but if it is humid it will take a little longer. I'd say give it a little more time and then see, but it should not be sticky after 48 hours. I'm also assuming you prepped the body correctly by washing it with warm soapy water and a toothbrush?
  16. Ah, don't do it, Tom . . . just walk away and give yourself and the model a little moment . . . I totally understand the frustration though . . .
  17. Thanks, buddies. Yeah, I love Andy Johnson's work. I'm a big fan . . .
  18. Yes, maybe the fun and relaxation is just in painting bodies . . . here comes the Big Easy 65 Impala . . . almost right out of Mardi Gras . . .
  19. When one would simply not do . . . two begin to feel better. It might be that I will spend the rest of my life painting shiny bodies . . . never ever to finish a single one . . . The only difference is that one has glitter and the other doesn't.
  20. I agree, that color is going to stand out! Great progress, buddy. Keep it going.
  21. Wow, some fabulous builds all over this thread. Excellent scratch-building and craftsmanship. Had I known I would be having so much fun looking through 24 pages of goodies, I would have popped some popcorn and sat on my comfy chair!
  22. I like the way it looks with the big tires and in black. Good work.
  23. I've never been truly happy with a kit's chrome, so I usually strip the parts, smooth them, and then either use Alclad or the House of Kolor system. Here's an example of something I've started to work on with the House of Kolor . . . it's imperative to use a good atomization with an airbrush . . .
