  1. I also will add some straps, and other details back there . . . perhaps a tray with a last meal, something to drink, some girley magazines, etc . . . Ah, the imagination is a terrible thing to waste!!! Gee, I have quite a bit of dry brushing ahead of me . . . Also, regardless of where this sucker is going to sit, I think I need to shread up some charred bits of clothing for him . . . at 125 miles per hour that windchill factor can really do a number on your bones!!!
  2. Well, the more I think about, the more I think for something like this to work it has to look pretty grungy and dirty and well, pretty burned up . . . without losing too much detail . . . I'm aiming for contrast too. This kind of thing is difficult to do, but I think I'm getting there . . . I'm also not convinced that this sucker is going to be sitting in the chair or in the driver seat yet. And look at him? He's already lit up a cigar. And hey, what is that bullet hole doing between his eyes? I thought this one had been fried up crispy on old SPARKY there? Also, as you can see on the dashboard, we've set up some trinkets with some impending wires that will connect the front with the back . . . I think once I start adding a bit more color to this, it will start to look right . . .
  3. Ooh, I like the stance. This build is looking interesting already!!!
  4. Thanks, Rob . . . I am starting to work out the painting details . . . thanks for the comments, and please stay tuned in for progress . . .
  5. Thanks, Chap!!! More soon tomorrow, stay tuned in!
  6. Thanks, chaps . . . yeah, I think I am going to put the skelenton in the driver seat with a big cigar in his mouth and a bottle of booze in his lap, some bad #$% music on the passerger seat, some mags, etc . . . And then the chair will be empty, but burnt a little with some ashes--just the right look waiting for the next hitchhiker!!!
  7. Man, that already looks pretty wicked. I can't wait to see it painted. WOW!
  8. It's coming along singing a song!!! Keep it going. We are watching you!!!
  9. It's official now. All the remaining parts are primered and ready to receive a coat of paint. This build should be done by this weekend, I hope!!!
  10. Sure, I'd buy one if Ford didn't go out of business . . .
  11. Beautiful job on those elements. Those kinds of details go a long ways to please the eyes!
  12. Nicely done!!!
  13. I'm working on the chassis trying to get all the elements in place . . . I find myself making very slow progress this evening . . .
  14. Thanks for the input, buddy. I think I am going to go ahead and use the skeleton, but I am going to figure out a way of making him stand out a little more . . . more than just a cigarette dangling from his mouth and a brewsky in his hand . . . I love the ashes idea, and since I smoke cigars I always have a great supply the real stuff!
  15. Thanks, maties . . .ha! I am still laughing about the shower head thing!!!
  16. It took me a while to get the pose as good as I could given the nature of this wonderful skeleton (Thanks Jairus!!!), but I still don't know if I am going to use it . . . I like the idea of a pile of smouldering ashes on the seat . . . more menacing that way, plus it will match what is in the trunk. Trunk!!! Alas, but I get ahead of myself! This dude is photogenic, all right, and if I'm not mistakened, he's even turning to strike a pose for the camera!!!
  17. Thanks, Dave . . . those are some fueling words!!! Wait until you see what happened to the last dude who sat back there . . .
  18. LOL!!! There's nothing but straws in there, buddy!!! Straws and rust and gunk!!!
  19. Okay, the Dupont clear is on there, three coats . . . and if it continues to look this good, then I might not buff it . . . I hate buffing paintjobs!!!
  20. Thank you! And I hope you guys keep checking back for some progress reports . . . like this one: Well, it took me a few hours to get it done, but I got it done. The question is, how unlucky are you gonna be if you don't ride shotgun with Mr. D? I'm just tickled abou this one! By the way, the head zapper (O Lordy!!!) moves up and down to fit all sizes!!! Once I get it all painted, I can put in the straps for that ultra realistic look, oh, and the little sign on the backrest: SPARKY
  21. That's a great question. The purpose for it in my mind is to start with a black canvas so that I can erase it as I spray the silver . . . it's an old habit of mine, I guess, though yes, if you want to skip it, it certainly can be skipped . . . . I guess you can also primer the body in black Plastikote and start that way . . .
  22. Thanks, J. We are trying to have fun in 2009, that's all we're trying to do! Back in 2000 when the world didn't come to an end, I thought every year after is pure gravy!!!
  23. Oh no, NO!!! Not the pictures!!! Not THOSE pictures!!!
  24. It's gonna cost you your first child!!!
  25. The Revell/Monogram 59 Caddy is selling on Amazon for 14.95, which is pretty darn cheap compared to some other kits!
