  2. you know, I thought the same thing!! looks like something out of the bottom of a lake!!
  3. I LOVE the PBR can! Looks awesome!!
  4. Just finished this one today. Built it up as a curbside because I didn't really care for the motor the Revell Good Guys 1937 Ford Coupe came with. The kit was pretty lame. There were tons of cool parts but no real way to add them to the car. I am thinking at one time this kit was retooled and they left some odds and ends parts on the trees. Never the less, I tried some new weathering stuff and I tried some foil work (my first time foiling and I learned a lot). Take and look and let me know what you think. Thanks, whitman80
  5. Sad news today. On my way to work I received a call from my mom, informing me that my dad managed to drop this model from a standing height and broke it into lots of peices! R.I.P. Stone, Woods and Cook Willys!! Thanks for all the nice comments.
  6. YESSSSSS! That is a dead-on post war rod! Great build and nice attention to detail. Where did you get this kit?
  7. Thanks Flatout! I used Dupli-Color Metalcast Anodized Blue. Not a typical paint for this application but it worked out pretty well plus I had it just laying around the house.
  8. I am pretty sure he liked it!! He doesn't build models but he loves cars.
  9. Super clean build! I almost bought that kit today.
  10. Just finished this one this morning and gave it to my Dad as a gift. WHAT A FUN AND FAST BUILD!! I built it up to look like their 1962 Gasser. Take a look and let me know what you think. Thanks! Mounted Hemi on Rolling Fame Still needed to put on the headlights DONE
  11. Man, I love those Bomber seats!! Nice Touch!
  12. Hey Y'all! Its been a while since I last posted anything. I had to take some time off to move and work. Last week I finish another 32 Ford. I did a lot of experimenting! Chopped the top, "Z"ed the frame, build a nice looking flathead out of some spare parts. It was a BLAST. I really didn't like the kit I used. It was a reissue from the 70s and most of the plastic needed a lot of trimming and for the most part didn't fit right. There is not interior or glass int this car. I probably going to finish that at a later date, stilling thinking over some different ideas for that part of the model. Take a look and let me know what you think! Here is the kit I used! Here is the finished work!
  13. I LOVED Orange Blossom Special II as a kid! I live in Bowling Green, Ohio which the home of the NTPA World Championship and I remember watching that truck run down the track! What an awesome build!
  14. Hey Rudy! I use pastels and chalk to make it looked weathered. Just make sure you use a spay fixing agent on it so the chalk doesn't rub off. Thanks for the positive comments. Whitman
  15. did some more work today. take a look and let me know what you think! thanks, whitman
  16. Thanks Man! Did some more work today. I added ignation wires and and radiator hoses. This is the first time I have every put these on my models. It was a challenge but it really made the motor look better. I also started weathering the cab. Let me know what you think about my color choice for this truck.
  17. I noticed that! Maybe I should have it looked at!?!?
  18. Started my 3rd build yesterday. Its the Revell 41 Chevy Pickup. Looked over all the parts and everything looked OK. Lowered the front and rear end after building some lowering blocks, which was pretty easy. I am going to do this project as a beat up, old weathered hot rod. So far its been really fun because you don't have to worry about getting the paint perfect Let me know what you think!
  19. Just finished my 48 Ford. Pretty much all the major parts on this model were warped but that didn't stop me. Its not perfert and because the warpping I was not able to put in the glass. IT JUST WOULDN'T FIT! I saw this model as a challenge and did some new things like making my own custom headers which was a blast and I plan on doing that from now on. It gives it a personal touch and it gave me experience working with styrene. Hope you like and tell me what you think! Thanks, Michael
  20. Used the blow dryer method and it worked great!
  21. So I just realized that the frame to my 48 Ford is warpped. How should I correct this? The front right wheel sit off the ground and if you look at the frame head on it is slightly bent. Any advice?
  22. Ryan- Thanks for the pointers! I was thinking about going with the steelies but opped for the other wheels. Not sure why but I did. I am building the flathead with the power-adders. I am still kinda getting back into model making so I didn't want to press my luck by lowering it. Your 48 Ford, on the other hand, looks amazing. I love the weathered look with the super clean tires and wheels.
  23. Now that's what I would call "Makin' Junk Run!" It looks great. Nice job on the rough look and the tranny and intake in the bed just add to this trucks overall look! LOVE IT!
