Gorgeous - great build!
-
Yeah - in light of how good the AMT '67 Mustang kit is, I too would have to question the relevance of this kit. I certainly won't be buying one. Why do they keep wasting time bringing out different versions of the same thing? Why not make a '68 notchback instead?

Also just finished this one last month – it’s based on the AMT ’51 Chevy BelAir kit. It has a chopped and filled roof, radiused hood corners, reprofiled rear quarters, ‘cove’ and custom side trim, side pipe pods, clamshell hood and dummy spots.

Thanks guys – I’m really pleased you like my models. FYI – it’s not a Merc it’s the Revell ’40 Ford Street Rod kit. I chopped the top, turned it into a hardtop, lengthened the doors and rear fenders and pancaked the hood - but otherwise it’s a stock-bodied ’40 Ford! LOL Here’s a few more pics of my latest hot rods. The ’34 loboy is based on the Revell snap tite kit and is a tribute to Robert Lomas’ coupe out of So Cal. I channelled the body, scratchbuilt a firewall, added a Cadillac V8, quickchange rear end and a set of steelies with big ‘n’ little whitewalls, caps and trim rings. This ’32 hiboy is a resin body I cast myself after grafting the chopped roof from an AMT kit onto the Revell roadster body to make an accurate five window coupe. The rest is pretty much out of the Revell kit, with the exception of the stock firewall, Moon tank, Buick nailhead V8, scratchbuilt headers and big ‘n’ little wide whites.

Don't you just love the look of fresh paint? Great job. -
Thanks Risto - glad you like them! The '40 Ford is painted a dark red metallic auto lacquer (apologies but I forget the name of the colour - the brand is PowerPlus here in Oz) from a rattle can sprayed over a flat black primer to keep it nice and dark and then lots and lots of clear. Here's a few more pics:

You can also use ‘gel’ pens and a circle template – have a look here: http://amcc.forum-motion.com/how-to-s-q-s-...ow-to-t1089.htm

Thanks for all the nice words guys. And for making me feel so welcome. I look forward to posting some more finished builds soon.

Go Benny Graham – local boy made good in that crazy game you guys call football! -
Excuse my ignorance, but why did California cars have a different bumper?
-
Looking great already - love the colour and wheel choice.
-
Awesome - can't wait to see what you come up with for this one. The second option need some whitewalls to really set them off. And red lines on the first option.
-
Awesome work so far on what appears to be an incredible model kit. Absolutely breathtaking...can’t wait to see the finished job!
-
Wow – great job masking up those stripes – love the colour too!
-
Great work so far – your restyling really works. I’m genuinely surprised at how natural those mods look on such a new car. I particularly like the fastback rear window hatch and pointy nose. Have you considered including the ’69 gills in the side scoop as well?

What a great looking build! Fantastic job on what is definitely the hardest colour to paint. I built one in a similar colour scheme many years ago – here’s a link in case you want to take a look: http://amcc.forum-motion.com/the-showroom-...ight=69+charger

That looks sweet! I’d paint it bright red and finish it – quickly - before you change your mind!
-
Nice work so far – sure does look better with a roof chop!
-
Awesome paint – very inspirational. Highly creative build – keep up the great work!
-
Absolutely gorgeous - I particularly like the use of the hood on the rear - highly creative.
-
That's a beautiful build of a classic car - well done.
-
Great work so far - I really dig the style. A too have had problems with warped parts on these new releases, however I contacted Autoworld and they have been very helpful and have offered to send me a new chassis for my '49 Ford.

Hi everyone. I’ve been lurking around here for quite a while, but thought it might be time to make my presence known. Here’s a sample of my latest efforts to introduce to my work. I look forward to interacting with a bunch of talented people on here in the future. Cheers, Bryce
