  1. Looks like a fleet tractor with those spoke wheels and bobbed bumper. Tim
  2. Doc The only thing wrong with the fenders is the same thing that Revell USA/Germany and AMT got wrong.. they all molded the rear fender step at the bottom of the fender. The step is supposed to be about 3 inches up on the fender. I have started to cut the step off and relocate it. You can see at the bottom of these two photos the correct step location. Tim
  3. Park that outside my house for December-March ! Looks great! Tim
  4. I concur. The AMT cab has the correct arch to the top of the hood and cowl. The Monogram/Revell hood and cowl are more 379-ish, thus flatter and the hood shape won't match the cab. The snap hood is also wider at the grille. The fenders however (from the snap) work great on an AMT hood to correct AMT's too short of fenders. It ads the front of fender bracket/step too. You will have a clearance issue when the hood tilts however. Tim
  5. Just fantastic! I used to see these big Fords all the time. Tim
  6. The DM600 and U600 share the same cab and hood. The difference is the suspension and frame rails (DM having heavier spec'd items). I think the little single axle dumper would be a neat project. Tim
  7. Speaking of that little 3208.. back in the 70's Peterbilt offered it in the 346 and 348. Tim (I just had to put a PB spin on this.. )
  8. They were for the 1971 style Ryder graphics with a full length horizontal red/white/black stripe. The color would be sort of a lemon yellow. Tim
  9. Chris This Ford looks like it will be a beast! Tim
  10. Steve Those are left over from the original version of the kit when it had full-length Ryder Rental decals. Those are for mounting the decals to the side of the box. The shorter piece was for mounting the RYDER text decal. Tim
  11. Primer= Duplicolor sandable white, then BIN primer, sanded, then white primer, then Krylon yellow (can't remember the color name), then the green on the fenders, then several coats of clear. After the paint cured I wet sanded the paint and waxed it. Tim
  12. The 379 looks nice in that color. Tim
  13. Chuck All my photos are taken at full resolution, then I reduce them for web posting. I have the big versions on file. Tim
  14. Chuck The tarp does not operate.. it is paper painted flat black and allowed to dry in place for the right "sag." I noticed that in the hot sun the paper contracted and the tarp on the truck box started to lift up! "It's alive!" The camera is the same I've had since last year. The difference is that I didn't reduce the images so much. Tim
  15. Thanks ! The chicken lights: Flat strip for the light bar. Take round plastic rod (Evergreen in this case), take a sharp blade and shave a bunch of evenly cut "slices" (as if you were slicing salami). I glue the "slices" to the flat strip. Let the glue cure then block sand the face of the lights so they are all the same height. Cover with Bare Metal Foil or paint with chrome paint. I colored the lenses with a black Sharpie marker to simulate the black housing then painted the face with orange. Tim
  16. Scott Funny you mention the ROG KW dumper.. my original plan was to use the Revell dump body but it wasn't the right style of dump box so I made my own. I'm glad that I did. Tim
  17. See the post Part One for information on the truck. After removing the mufflers, headlights and visor, I installed the customized versions. The headlights are from Matt Burnett, the visor from Dan Poulin. The exhaust stacks are Evergreen tubing coated with Bare Metal Foil. The dump box is scratchbuilt. The trailer frame is a modifed Gravel Trailer, the dump box is a modified Paystar Heil box. ..Oops, I see I forgot the rear corner lenses! More photos and information on the build are on my site at Tim's Trucks.com - then Recent and Inprogress page Thanks for looking! Tim
  18. Yeah.. the green nameplates are a bit much. I could have used the blue ones from an early issue 378..
  19. That's some red oval obsessed goomer. The KFS wheels/tires (which are Italeri super singles) are great. I should have ordered the KFS deep off set wheels. Those look even better. Tim
