  1. Factory must have forgot to switch seat covers when they ran out of Chevy seats,
  2. There are a number of ways to lower suspensions and what you use depends on the type and characteristics of the suspension on the particular model. Also, the total amount you want to lower the car can affect how you do it. The method presented above by FujimiLover can be used on many metal axle vehicles. Most AMT kits in the 50's and 60's used this method, even supplying reversible axle blocks or two holes for the axles! I simple leaf spring rear can sometimes be lowered slightly by simply filing down the mounting points at the ends of the springs. Another way is to add blocks of plastic above the springs to mount the rear end to. If the axle is suspended directly off coils. you can cut the coils down. Independent front, or rear, suspensions can sometimes be lowered by moving the wheel mount higher up on the kingpin. Cutting the coil-strut on a MacPherson type suspension can lower the car. These are just a few methods to get you thinking about YOUR suspension. If you give the specific kit you're working on, I'm sure someone here has lowered it an can give some specific advice. One thing to keep in mind is maintaining wheel clearance to the body when lowering.

  5. I was going to ask how you painted that bowtie on the rear emblem .... I like the balance now of the rocker trim piece with the other chrome showing ... does the hood nose still have a chrome piece?

  15. Yeah, I figure that's the plan as you say. Time to drop a clear sprue in the purple pond to see how it reacts.

  19. Cause for inspiration! ....Great photo set
  20. so, size DOES matter! I was never expecting lolo wheels on this, but of course, they DO look great! Only trouble is, now you'll have to model a jack in the trunk that can lift the car 36" to change a flat. ;)
  21. First, the bad news. I had to trim the top of the tail lights to make them uniform in height for this conversion. The right one came out great and the left one had a "slip of the measurement" and is unusable. So I needed another kit to redo it. Picked up another Crown Vic at the NotSoLocalHobbyShop today. I got a different State Police version just for some different light bar .. they had 3 versions on hand. That was good! When I opened it, I found the rear tail lights were molded in clear with the top covered in a transparent red. When did Ford start making tail lights different colors in the same year!!!!??? Must be differences in client demands. So now, I have a red molded and partially clear molded ones. Looks like I have to cut TWO more tail lights now as the ones from different kits will not match. The good news is, got a primer coat on front and the grill is good.
  22. I posted a photo hint on one of your other builds, but you can improve your photos with the camera you have a lot. There was a recent thread by Treehugger Dave about cameras to photo models and much good advice there. Camera Advice
