Just saw the video for the first time (my lousy internet prevents me from spending much time in Youtube anymore), and I love it! I'm just glad those headers didn't shear off on the way back to you.

That's not a SOHC- it's the 385-Series Boss 429, Ford's answer to the 426 HEMI. You are correct that it was never offered as a cop car motor- in fact, it was only ever used in the Mustang for '69 and '70.

I heard that people are trying to pass laws requiring electric and hybrid cars to make more noise at lower speeds, so that pedestrians can hear them. I guess nobody thought of sticking a baseball card in the wheel spokes...

It does seem odd, but that's about the only explaination I can think of. If it had broken off before being bagged, there'd be evidence of that on the runners. If it had broken off in the bag... well, it would be in the bag. The fact that the ends of the runners are smooth and have chrome covering them would seem to indicate a short shot. But anyway, yeah- Revell should be able to take care of it. I've had to get a couple of replacements from them and, though sometimes it takes a month or so for the parts to show up, they've always come through for me.

I love it! The idea of a drag-racing Bronco does seem a little bizarre, but maybe that's what makes the idea work so well. I might have to track down one of those bodies now...

Sounds like the part may have been short shot- no plastic got into the part of the mold where the grille is located- I have this same reissue, and the grille is present and accounted for on the sprue.

I built the Rides Magazine reissue when it came out (which was all kinds of awful, though it had more to do with the additions made for that particular release and not so much the main kit itself) and didn't encounter any of those issues- I even managed to get the hinged trunk lid to open and close smoothly and with a rather consistent gap around it. Seems like Round 2 has been altering or repairing some of their tooling, which is needed in quite a few cases, but it seems like too often they aren't checking to see how stuff actually fits before the kit hits the shelf. The '60 Ranchero reissue comes to mind- the awful hood gap (the previous '61 reissue from 2007 or therabouts had a much better fitting hood) ,the too-short wheel mounting bosses, and two driver's side decal graphics instead of one for each side (which has happened a couple of times) seem to indicate they might be in a bit too big of a rush to bring some of these kits back out. Yes, yes... I've been accused of being a "Serious Adult Scale Model Hobbyist" and am capable of working around these issues, that being said, I really wish that kit manufacturers would take a step back and invest just a little bit more on quality control. And in no way is Round 2 the only guilty party in that regard- that applies to pretty much every kit manufacturer.

I mentioned that earlier- that's why I'd really love to see somebody do the proper five-bolt steel wheels, even though the F-150 alloys would work just fine. I've got one on the bench at the moment with those wheels and tires- I used some plastic tubing slipped into the wheel backs so they'd fit on the metal axles. And the unused six-bolt steelies from the Revell kit ended up on a Maisto 2010 F-150, an application where they would be appropriate. The decal sheet was the big downer for me with that kit- Revell needs to end its love affair with those peel-and-stick vinyl graphics on their snap kits. I ended up using some spares from a '97 F-150 kit for the dash instruments and Ford oval on the grille. The fact that the graphics were generic was kind of a moot point to me, since there's no way I'd stick the things to the body in the first place.

Nice! The neighbor has one in a color similar to that, but his is a Supercab short bed. I do want to cut up one of these kits to represent that configuration.

I basically threw this together from some spares, in much the same manner I'd assume a 1:1 like this would be done.

This was just a quick and simple "slam it together and get it over with" type of project. I used the wheels from the Revell '49 Merc Wagon, and some of the engine parts from the Revell Cadillac parts pack engine, and did it as a psuedo-MSP car. Kind of my take on an updated version of the MPC '50 Merc police car snap kit, I guess.

You did the impossible, Rob... as in you built a second-gen Camaro that, if blown up to 1:1, I'd not be ashamed of being seen in. Great work all around on this one.

Thanks guys. Those came from Modelhaus- 1992-1997 Ford Police Wheels. They come molded in black resin with separate plated caps.

I really like it! I've used the Tamiya interior and chassis under couple of other Beetles and it's a very adaptable assembly. Never noticed the discrepancy between the LHD and wiper configuration on the Tamiya kit.

Very cool! I like the idea you have with the taillights- the old Ford "sheild" type lights, but with a round lens. I'd like to give that a try in 1:1.
