  1. That really came out good!! Nice job!!
  2. Thanks Tyrone!!! I really appreciate you doing this step by step for us.
  3. OK this is awesome. But I have a couple of questions. I notice that the staples are angled; Not perfectly straight up and down. Any reason for that? Also, how do you know how far the staples need stick out of the chassis?
  4. Looking forward to seeing how you do the hinges. It's the one thing I cannot seam to nail down!
  5. Thanks guys! I appreciate all the positive feedback! Tyrone it's pretty thick in spots. Check out the below pics and you'll get and idea. The doors should be fine. I did find this resin to be rather brittle as I cracked the car in half cutting out the trunk. Easy fix though. Here it is in all its glory. I may add a few knick knacks here and there later. I am not 100% happy with the engine so the hood will stay closed on this one. It will be a shelf model.
  6. Nice job man!! That's gorgeous!
  7. Good idea with the blocks on the firewall........I may try that myself.
  8. Sanded a lot of that bondo off the hood and here's where I am at. I want a HUGE wing on the back of this thing but I'm not sure how I'm going to pull it off. Stay tuned as the build continues!!!
  9. This thing ROCKS!!!! Nice work so far!
  10. Thanks Stan. I have had problems with the frame breaking off the firewall myself. Most of the time I build the floor/chassis/cage as a single unit. In that case, good old fashioned Testors liquid cement welds the cage to the firewall. When I paint the frame/cage and floor separate I super glue the cage to the firewall at final assembly. I usually hide the joint under the cowl of whatever car I'm building. That way it can be a little messy but a nice solid joint.
  11. Thanks Guys. Stan, the lettering on the front tires is drawn on with a white gel pen. Any ink that goes outside the lines can be scrapped off with a hobby knife once the ink dries. I highlighted all the trim on this one last night. This pic shows my progress about half way through painting on the black. Trim was done with a combination of paint brushes and Sharpies. Grill, headlight buckets and tail lights will be black. Bumpers are white. Rear axle is installed for good and I got the fuel pump installed for good. Tonight I'll start the plumbing. As always thanks for looking!
  12. Where's the popcorn? I'll be watching this one!!!
  13. OK cool! Looking forward to how you hinge the doors and fab the headers. Thanks for answering my questions!
  14. What a pretty car! Nice job on the build!
  15. Nice work on the cage. The stance on this one is killer. Couple questions...... Are you going to open the doors? What are bull horns?
  16. Thanks Jason, it's just a piece of black ignition wire. I drilled a hole in the wheel and then glued the wire in place. Thanks Cody, I appreciate it!
  17. Love it!! Really nice engine detail!
  18. I've started laying this one out. I'm not sure of a color combo yet but I'm thinking flames......perhaps red white and blue flames on a black car..........we'll see what happens. I started on the outlaw style hood. It's a scoop off a Revell Nova with some extra meat added to the bottom. The front will be a challenge. Here is the start of the engine. That's a modified Jukebox Ford tranny and oil pan. The strips coming off the pan are my new flange. I started on the front frame. I'll be painting the floor and cage different colors on this one. This one may sit so low I need to add clearance in the front fenders. Thanks for looking!!!
  19. I did a little more on this one tonight. The body is drying so I mounted the front wheels (Notice the valve stem). I also added the front brake lines and I started on the fuel pump. I am using a modern unit out of a Revell funny car. I had to re-position the main fuel line to the rear. I'll start adding lines later this week. This will be my first time using this kind of pump. I hope it looks OK.
  20. Thanks everyone! Jason, I am lucky in that I get an hour a day at my bench. Those hours add up fast and allow me to finish builds pretty regularly! I've also got a '68 Dart, Volvo Wagon and Dodge Challenger in line for the drag treatment. Hopefully I get them all finished this year!!
  21. Man this thing looks awesome! Nice work on the fuel system plumbing
  22. Spectacular build. I thought I was looking at a real car!
  23. NICE!!!! Looking forward to more. I really have learned a lot from your builds!
