The Nova looks great Niko!, the hood looks good, I'm sure it'll look even better once you have it polished out. I have one little comment to make on the car (going by the one that I owned), the battery cable going to the starter, it should be sitting lower, almost "tucked" in down by the suspension, so that it's not sticking so high up. It is 1 beautiful build, really like it. Have you decided on how you are going to paint the grille/tailight panel?

10.5 tire outlaw Twin Turbo Mustang BACK TO WORK ! :)

Nick, the chassis is looking good, I don't think anybody minds anybody "picking" the brains of the best Drag Racing modelers out here. As for your Carbon Fiber question, I ordered 2 sets of CF decals from Scale Motorsports, they have a bunch of different things for models, all different types of CF decals, I ordered/recieved (very quickly I might add!) a set of clear carbon decals (the color you put them on shows thru, right now I have some on the rear rims I'm using on my Nova build & I'll be putting some on the valve covers as well, the covers & rims are painted in Tamiya Brilliant Blue), I also have the "normal" darker color. Hope this helps you out with your 'Stang! -

Everything is coming out great Tyrone, I have to agree with everyone else, looks like you've been building chassises for years! -
The floor boards look great Clay, as does the steering column, one thing to correct (for anybody building a realistic P/M), the drivers side floorboard has to be steel which is correct, but the rules for both the NHRA & the ADRL state that carbon fiber can only be used on anything BEHIND the driver (tubs, suspension covers etc), the passenger side can be aluminun or steel but not carbon fiber.

Surman, Clays screen name is ClayK, he's building the 1/16 Mustang P/M, he built tha great looking Blackbeards Revenge 70.5 Camaro (in 1/25th). -
Jack, I have seen a few carb cars running zoomie headers, not many but a few, back in the early days when the Late Great Ronnie Sox was driving the Comet, he ran carbs & zoomies, I've seen a pic of a car recently (it's running now, not a "in the past" thing) that is running carbs & zoomies, if I find it again I'll let you know what it is, but the rules don't say that a carbed car can't run zoomies, any type of header is allowed.

It'll be a little while but I'm planning on running a 4-link on my Pro-Nitrous Mercury Comet & a swing-arm on my Pro-Nitous Chevy Nova & on my Pro-Extreme Dodge Demon, I'll be posting pics of them when I get that far in the builds -
The ADRL Rules are easy to find on their web-site (& unlike the NHRA, you don't have to be a member to check them out),most of the rules seem to be pretty much like the NHRA, the main difference is in the ADRL there is no weight or cubic inch limit, I sent a e-mail to their Tech guy awhile back (when I was researching for my Demon build),I asked about a dual mag, nitrous & if they allowed the rear swing-arm suspension (that is what I plan on putting in my P/N Nova & the P/E Demon), the swing-arm is legal, no dual mags, no more then 2 batteries, you can even run nitro (you have to have a thicker firewall & resrictions on blower size & overdrive). I found the ADRL in 2010 when I was "channel-surfing", I landed on the cable channel VS., & they were running a ADRL show, needless to say I was hooked, planned on watching & recording the 2011 season on my DVD player/recorder, then major bummer hit, ADRL signed with Mavtv, which I don't get & no more on VS. As I said check out their website for the rules it's easy (it's on PDF now), plus they even have live feeds of all the races free on the site (& the only bummer there is that the camera view is from above & behind the starting line, so you only see the cars from the top & back.

When I get back to working on my Dodge Demon "Angela" (using the same body as you, only in 1/25th & keeping it a Demon) I plan on having it be set-up with a blower & nitrous.
-
You can set the car up to be able to compete in the ADRL, they allow Nitrous hook-ups on blower cars in the Pro-Extreme class.

Ron is right, I will chime in with the info needed, Scale Auto, June #131 & August #132 from 2000, the article covers detailing F/C engines from 1968-1974.
-
It all looks good Clay,This is gonna be 1 great build, along with Rom's Daytona & Chris's F/C.
