Well... for me, as an "old" beginner, thanks to everyone that posts their help and wisdom here. I give up- I'll be an ARTIST later (maybe). I'll reckon I'll just build these little things for FUN for a while.
Thanks again.
Dale
I only browsed through thread,I didn't read word for word.
This is about the only thing that makes sense to me.

Thanks Steve. Very interested in this too.

Greg, that's one of the reasons why I'll always pass on an EBAY item if I can't see EVERY side of the car from every angle. Some sellers avoid showing pictures of damaged or warped areas of a car, which is stupid because they'll usually have to take it back and refund your money if that's what you decide. Yes you'd be out the return postage, but fortunately vent window posts are a relatively easy fix although you'd rather not have to go through that..
I agree, the more pictures the better. I think this particular seller models aren't their forte. So I made them aware and hopefully it will help them and others with future model auctions.

Can the Caddy vent windows be fixed? I have never fixed any. I like the johan snap caddy but I never find one I can afford. always wanted one...
As Rich said it is an easy fix and it gets covered in foil but if I'd have known I would've bid accordingly. Maybe $40 tops. Think the snap ran me under $30,just have to be persistent. There's a buy it now over there for $90,crazy times we live in.

At the moment, yes. But come summer it will have to find someone to invest in new head gaskets, shock mounts, 2 tires, radiator and/or heater core and a slew of lesser annoyances that still wouldn't please the "queen." More of an investment in the relationship than the vehicle. The 'stang has been a surprisingly reliable, durable and trouble free car over the years though.
I hear that. Sounds like a smart decision. Happy wife, happy life.

Galaxie and a Caddy. Vent windows are broken on caddy, from eBay,seller didn't mention and angle of picture you couldn't tell. Contacted seller and they offered refund, don't know if it's worth sending back. Especially if I have to pay shipping. Though I wouldn't have paid $50 knowing they were broke.
Always wanted one or two of these.

Well it's good-bye to my dear 96 Mustang, this photo is from when I bought it 12-years ago. It's worn out now, girlfriend hates it because she can't drive a stick shift, bucket seats hurt her back and it can't carry dog crates.
So last weekend I bought this PT Cruiser. It's a little fun but I'm really going to miss my rear wheel drive 5-spd. But, the queen loves it. I'd like to mod it and I love that there's a ton of clubs, forums, fan support and aftermarket gear for these cars.
Sorry for your loss. Hang in there. Would it not of made sense to keep the mustang too?

I paid $10 which may tell ya something!
The Premier Falcon... Too short, too tall and too narrow. Otherwise it's great!
Their excellent Corvair. No promo contracts here!
And the Rambler. Ugly as sin. I'm surprised these models don't burn holes in their boxes! But of course I own them, and many more. I find them interesting, and I grab them when I see them cheap.. or free.
Next time guys on the board start some heated debate thread about some miniscule thing on a new kit, I think I'll bomb the thread with these beauties!
Scrolling down on my phone I see box for 61 Falcon, get excited, then wham! That thing?

I don't care if it's a cartoon. I'll check it out. Of course I'll wait for it to be free.

True, and in my opinion it is depicted positively. I do seem to recall that they included a Monogram GSX in his model collection, which briefly took me "out of the moment" of the movie, since the film is set in the late 70's, and that kit wouldn't have been available until the late 80's, I believe. Maybe it was meant as a slight omage to the 68 or 69 Skylark that they used in the movie.
Forgot about that one. I seem to recall that they showed him working on a Revell 69 Camaro early on in the movie. I think that aspect was an attempt to show his immaturity at the start of the film, which unfortunately seems like the most common reason for showing model building in TV/movies.
I think your right about the immaturity,I wasn't going to mention that. ? and he was doing a 59 impala at one time too, looked like a lowrider.

Looks pretty cool. Like the glass top. I really dig the ford flex and this is similar.

Watched "Baby Boy" over the weekend, seen it a few time before but never put two and two together. The main character played by Tyrese Gibson builds plastic model cars.

Wow,some nice detailing. Looks great.
