71datsun1200 replied to Zoom Zoom's topic in WIP: Model Cars
looks mean. i will be following this build please update soon. -
i had to lower the battery tray since i raised the front inner wheel wells.i cut the little piece out and turned it around put it in place to put the battery in a good postion. the battery in place. here's a mock up of the big radiator i had to narrow both ways in order to get it to fit. it's like half the size it was now. picture of the engine bay with most of the parts mocked up. i might throw an msd box in there along with a wired distributer if i get some extra funds. thanks for looking !- Will

Thanks guys for the cool comments. it motivates me to do more. you guys know how it can get with this hobby. @ dave ,i've read over and over about how bad the proportions are on this kit but never really looked into it until about 5 mins ago and found a good pic of an old ad to compare to my build. looks like who ever designed the mold for this kit was the one who was way out of wack and passed it on to this kit. here's the pic i found on google for those of you who are curious or have never had a chance to do the comparison. again thanks for the comments guys ! i posted elsewhere got like a million views and maybe one comment. i thought the point of these sites where to share ,motivate and inspire each other. the kit just looks terrible compared to the 1:1 in my opinion it's not even the same car except for the hood.

What's up guys ? It's been awhile since i have posted anything. At the begining of this week my wife was cleanin out my sons toy box and came across the cuda in the box which my boys had started on but never finished because we moved and probably just forgot all about it. She also found a "BADRIDES" diecast 05 mustang ,which i pulled the engine and seats out of for this build. She also found a dubcity mustang and that's where i got the wheels from.crazy thing is she was about to throw all of it away. the diecast cars where pretty busted up from the kids playing with them so i turned them into parts donors. thanks for looking hope you all enjoy. -Will

this is what i started with. i won this junker on ebay along with a chevelle.which is in way better shape then the nova was. anyway here's some pics of how it turned out about after 6-7 months of working on it on and off. it's not the greatest due to it had 2 diffrent coats of paint on it. i had to strip both coats one the blue pictured and under that a purple metalic of some sort. color i used is saphire blue metalic from dupli-color.pontiac engine blue along the the lower panels, bmf and a polish.all parts were form the parts box. a 454 out of a chevelle ss,console and diff from a 70 ss monte kit. wheels, rotors and brakes from a c6r vette. racing seats are out of a die cast ford gt 40 painted blue to match the car. a nos bottle and battery in the trunk area. brake power booster and master cylinder from the parts box. i enjoyed this build because i didn't start with an out of the box kit. i stripped the nova of all it's parts threw them in my parts box and started from there.hope you guys enjoy the pics.

What's on Your Backburner?
71datsun1200 replied to FujimiLover's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My project is a Pro-touring camaro i started sometime during the summer of 2008.everything was going alright until i was trying to apply the hounds tooth to the seats and i ruined the decals as i was trying to get them in place. so i kinda set ti to the side for the winter and now i'm looking forward to start working on it hopefully very soon. hope you guys enjoy. -
very nice work !

If you want to experience great customer service and knowledgable staff the next time your in or around West chester pa visit the hobbytown on rt. 3 next to b.king. it is operated by an older couple who are the owners in laws. Paul ,the owner set it up in a way that leaves the competitio in the dust. Paul and his staff let you hang out help you with any of your needs. not sure if they still do a weekly build night .but they use to. i moved to wilmington de and found g-force hobbies pretty good guys there to. i love your idea. some kind of signed waiver could free you from any legal issues concerning sharp tools and paints/ just my 2 cents. -
thanks again guys. if all goes well i should be building more often then not. so i will make sure to post the progress of my projects.
