  1. Checking in, still impressed. Like your hobby room, Bud. I recognize those acrylic trophies. Good stuff!
  2. Thanks for the all the great comments. It means a lot to get compliments from the best builders I know. Much appreciated! -Art
  3. Ray, If i can give you one tip, I see a lot of folks mount the dashboard incorrectly. It's hard to blame them, because the instructions make it seem as though the dash is mounted in a vertical manner, although it really dfoeasn't show it that way. The dash should really be at an angle that matches the edge of the cowl. That also allows the steering wheel to have the proper angle and not look like it would be in the driver's knees. Here's a pic of how I mounted mine. Hope it helps and I'm excited to see your build progress! I really love these kits. -Art
  4. Beautiful build, Bill! Having seen the WIP, I know the craftsmanship that went into this- simply incredible. -Art

    Very nicely done!
  6. Nice job!
  7. This one's now under glass. See it here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=59555
  8. Wrapped this little guy up over the weekend. This was my first 1/43 scale model and it was definitely a fun change of pace. It's a Provence Moulage kit. The WIP is here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=57870 Some inside pics: Here are some outside shots: Thanks for looking!
  9. Man, that is cool lookin'! It builds up real nice. You got that one done fast too!!!
  10. Thanks, Simon! Yours are great, so I appreciate the comment. I'm liking this one a lot as well!
  11. Thanks, Mark. The CF was so subtle, I thought it may have been a paint technique. I've used SM's CF in 1/24 before and it was good stuff. I'll have to get a sheet of the 1/43 in case another one of these builds comes across my workbench. Last week I uncorked a bottle of wine for my wife and her friends at her scrapbook party (those girls know how to do their hobby!) and I was holding the lead foil in my hands thinking it was a pretty interesting, but never thought of using it in modeling. But after seeing your belts, I'll definitely hold on to some next time. Lots of uses start coming to mind. -Art
  12. Another question- what did you do to get that carbon look on the dash? My little Lola could have used that treatment in places.
  13. Great cockpit! Did you make the buckles too, or were they part of the kit?
  14. Thanks, Mark! I was planning on coming, but I got a call from my sister that she's coming into town from Indiana, so the meeting got trumped for me. Hope to make it next month.
  15. Last night I got the decals on, and it went fairly well, considering how small they are. A few broke , but I was able to get them lined up, with the exception of the crack below. It was too prominent to let go, so I decided to mask and see if I could fill it in with a little flat white. It got fixed up OK... After that was done and I touched up a couple of other spots, I shot it with some two-part urethane clear. Thanks for looking...
  16. Very nice work. Thanks for the customizing lesson!
  17. Looks great, Mark! What a cool car.
  18. Thanks, John! Got the second color on today...
  19. Looks great, Steve!
  20. Cool car, Cliff!
  21. Dave, You did a great job on those graphics. The sizing was perfect and all I had to do was lay them out and print them. Even though they are only inkjet-printed, in John's capable hands they are turning out killer. The flames are really poppin' John! -Art
