  1. Austin...........the tank will be a fat, early-style Harley Davidson type...........twin filler caps with an instrument pod on top.............at least that is the plan so far.............there is an image that shows it back on post 36 of this thread.....................
  2. A few images with the fan, fan housing and shroud re-installed on the engine...............
  3. The Porsche motor, having a dry-sump oiling system, will need an oil tank.................this one will fit nicely under the seat area..................
  4. Thanks for the comments............Derick, hope that hand gets better, that hurts me just thinking about it...................and Curt, there is a lot of info out there about 3D printing........it's getting more accessible every day.........it does open up a whole lot of possibilities.................pretty much endless possibilities, really............... Tony
  5. Here are the rear brake pieces installed....................even the brake pads..............
  6. Oh, this is oh so true....................I am right there.........................
  7. Now this is the fun part for me...........here are images of most of the rear end put together............
  8. Matt.......the scale here is 1/16...........a bit small for some of this detail, but workable if patient........... PM sent.......... Tony
  9. Just about time to bring the pieces together and figure out the remaining details.............
  10. Trial fit of the distributor, intake manifolds and throttle bodies............ Further detail pieces will probably wait until I get closer to putting this into the frame.................
  11. Here are a few images with the fan shroud, fan pulley and engine case vent cover thing.................
  12. Cooling fan and fan housing........ Fan and housing set upon the motor................. This is all temporary, as these parts will be installed after the engine goes into the frame.............at least that's the plan................
  13. Until scanners get really good..........and a whole lot cheaper.............one still needs that CAD source file to print from..................but the CAD tools are getting more user-friendly all the time, and a number of them are free online, and the learning curve is a lot less steep these days...................also, lots of tutorials out there as well............... As Henchmen said, give it a shot............you may find you have a knack for it, and then you will never look at a model kit in the same way again.............the sky's the limit............... Tony
  14. Cam housings and covers........... Installed on motor, top view............. Bottom view, with oil-return tubes..............
  15. The 6 cylinder heads............ And here they are fitted to the cylinder barrels........
  16. A few cylinder barrels........ Then test fitted onto the engine case pieces........
  17. This is where I get excited...........a bit of color and I want to see it all together............... But I must be patient, for I need to spend some time on the engine parts..............
  18. Austin........thanks for the comment.............these pieces are 3D printed..............
  19. And here are the half-shafts.......... And with them in place, most all of these fit-checks seem good........little issue with what appears to be half-shaft length, but is really rod-end related........easily adjusted, or so I think.......... Now I can get into some color on these pieces...........and of course, start sorting through the engine parts................
  20. Austin, I hope I don't disappoint, but I was kidding about the "obscure" part...............it will be a Porsche motor................maybe a little obscure in a trike................ Now, perhaps I should look into an NSU Wankle..........that could be cool.................
