I saw on a tv show a few years back that they did just that, took a Wagoneer and removed the plastic grille and modified the headlight bezels to make it look the the Gladiator, which in my opinion is MUCH better looking. -
I really like these old school muscle cars that look like sleepers. Should make for a sweet build.

I have this model as well and I had a Viper engine I was going to shoe horn in there but it wouldn't quite fit under the hood length wise. -

I saw the movie and a short video on the cars. The black dual axle could actually smoke both axles in a burnout. And they built a Buick GNX with the engine in the trunk and the rear axle driving the front wheels so they could make it look like it was driving incredibly fast in reverse.

I am building the Color Me Gone 330 and its a sweet car. Had some trouble with the decals but other than that its cool. Like yours so far!

Nice Eclipse! i built one to look like the car from the first Fast and the furious movie. Pretty good kit to build.
