That f10 is a awesome. i will advise that you use the small side view mirrors not the ones that are on the areo pod things on the side for the version one diagram. Tons of issues with getting them to fit and i just threw mine away.

Yea. I could not figure out how i was going to paint the exterior and then paint/ slash do the interior since i could no longer remove the body shell after molding in the door jams. But the convertable lets you see the inside better. Thanks to everybody for the coments. They really helped pushed me when ii started to get burned out on it.

Ok, im very impressed, but will you please tell me what bolt sizes you used on your engine and which ones you use the most when detailing a build. I have visted scale hardware's web site but when i get there i'm set aback by all the choices an frankly the prices. I would not mind paying for the ones i can use but i would hate to start out with 130 bucks worth of bolts that i can never use Any info would be welcome and thanks for sharing your build

Model car parts on eBay
lanesteele240 replied to afxmustang's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
A fool and his money soon shall part. But what i hate is having to wade through all this junk just to look for what you want to see. I love datsun models. So i have a search for that saved in my moble ebay app. Well over half of the postings are for listings of 8.99 headers. 12.99 mud flaps and nobody buys them and they always get reposted. Now i see 12 new listings and im like wow time to spend some money. I just got siked. -
The wheels are from a store kinda like build a bear but for boys. It is called ridemakerz. They have stores in select areas. Mostly tourist areas. I heard some one say that you can get ridemakerz stuff from toys are us. They also have a web site. The rotors came off ebay. Just search for 1/12 resin drilled and slotted breakes and they should pop up. They were like 4.99 plus 2.50 shipping. I bought a few sets to minimize the shiping.

I used some aluminum rod 1/8 dia. and drilled out the rear axel to recieve it. The front would not allow for this so those wheels are not secured 100%. They may fall off at some time. Front wheel and rotors. The resin rotors add a ton of detail but were cheap off ebay. Rear. Im getting close. This thing has drug out way to long. A few more kit items to stick on, some seatbelts to scratch and the convetable top to go

Well aint that a coincident. My dad has two of them. One is a daily driver and the other, well, he beats it with a hammer whenever he gets mad at his most unfavorite politician. Back to the build (sorry, i could not resist). The carbon kevlar is awesome on the seat back. I will try that techneque when ever i do mine The seat padding is a smart idea. Please continue -
Well my convertable GT500 build is coming to a end and its time to start a new one. Ok, first off, my goals always get twisted. My builds always take other paths than planned. So, here is what i plan. Forgive me if it varies . Take the body off a RM GT350, put it on a RM GT500, paint it black add the the stripes. I would like to tone down the engine and some how take the super charger off and just have a fuel injection engine. That would make me scratch a intake. That sounds hard. Here is a basic view of the issues. The front and rear axels match the wheel openings. Score one for me The wheel wells will need to cut or the rear needs to be streched out (saw a awesome tute on the site) score one for the kit The spare will have to go and a fuel cell made. And the kit is winning. The engine bay is tight but should be trouble free. Any thoughts comments are welcome

Thanks kenny. The idea of both of the snakes side by side would be sweet. I just bought another 1/12 shelly for my next build. Cant wait to finish this so i can start it
-
I painted thespokes the color of the body with a brush. Then i flipped the wheel over and super glued a hub that came in the kit to the wheel. I will cut the end off of the metal pin and mount that to the car

Here are the rotors mounted. Front Rear I think i the angle is right. I tried to match the kit directions as to where the calipers go. Since i sanded the kit ones off, i had to just guess where to put them One more pick gluing the wind sheild in.

1/12 FERRARI F40 by Protar FULL DETAIL BUILD! (UPDATE 1-22-14)
lanesteele240 replied to Kennyboy's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Cant wait to see this one built up. Im planning on building my revell f40 up as the competizion racer. Any thing learned here will go far to add the missing detail from the RM kit -
Now the wheels. My idea of making the five spokes did not pan out. The plastic from the ridemakes wheels was to hard to sand out the imperfections left when i cut out the other material that i did not want. So im using the other set i bought. The dumb thing is, the ones im gone use are close to the kit wheels. Derrrrrrrrrrr. You can see the kit wheel beside the RMakers with kit tires And then the RMakers with RMakers tires. I glued the 5 spoke wheel to the one im using. I slid it in the tire and cut off the excess. This could be used to do a deep dish rim if you are onto that stuff Here are a set of drilled and slotted rotors i got off ebay. I cut the calipers off the risen ones and then added the calipers off the kit break assembly. The rear calipers just got cut off and the whole resin peice will just get glued on. I used the kit parts so adding the resin parts wont be so hard

Ok. Im back on this one I changed the color i was gone use to this dupa color blue that another member said looked like the blue that red bull racing uses on the RB6. It does. I will use it on my Rb6 build later. It took a long time to get the door jams even close to where they would look good painted
