Hello.......thank you all so very much for the kind comments......I really do appreciate them.......I cut the doors out and chopped the top 1/8 of an inch like the original model.........I hinged the tailgate........I modified the firewall like the original model......the firewall that Pete used was to small and did not fit correctly .......so he used a postcard and alluminum foil to fill the gap around the firewall that he used..... I used the same method since the Clone program wants almost everything exactly like the original model .......I will hinnge the doors and work on the grill tomorrow.......thanks for looking

Hello......thanks guys for the interest and the kind comments.......I really do appreciate it........I modified the front fenders to add headlights using the Ford Rear Bumper that Gordon provided.......I attached the skirts and cut open the roof for the Sun Roof........I will chop the top tomorrow and open the doors.......thanks for looking

Hello.......this is on the Bench: Pete Phillips "Short Sweetie" from the 1960`s.......I was asked by Mark Gustavason .......if I would like to build a clone of Pete Phillip`s: "Short Sweetie" for the "Clone the Past" program........when finished it will be added to the "National Model Car Builders Museum"........all the parts were donated by Gordon Clark......thank you Gordon .......I will have this done for this years GSL presentation of the "Clone the Past" program.........I have built one already for the "Clone the Past " program it was Jack Herndon`s: "Hybrid Special" also from the mid 1960`s..........it sits in the museum as well........the last couple of pictures are of Jack Herndon`s : "Hybrid Special " that I build 2 years ago.......thanks for looking

Hi Dave.......sorry I missed your steering up-date.......glad I saw it......spectacular as always .......this has to be one of your best builds in my eyes.......looks so real and correct as always........you are the TOP DOG Brother.......when it comes to Dragsters.......and not to mention your 1:1 car.......you are magical Buddy.......your clutch can is Awesome too man.......love your work.......cant wait for the next up-date......your moving right along on this one

Hello.......thank you all so very much for the kind comments.......I really do appreciate them.......I got the exhaust system made and attached ......and I also attached the power booster.........I made an electrical box and got that attched ......I made a master cylinder and hooked that up........ and also made a battery ,battery tray and cables and also got those attached .......I used "Pro Tech" nut and bolt ends,and the insulation from the Braided Oil Line for the brake cable.......I will paint the rear wheels next......thanks for looking.

Hi Tim.......when I was kid......I worked for my father on the weekends cleaning his shop and polishing the Choppers in the 60`s.........and I was lucky enought to watch the custom painters do there tricks on the paint jobs.......and I just started practicing on my motorcycle gas tanks and helmets......then started doing it on models.......it`s the same thing just in a very small scale......you have the talent too Tim......I know you could do it.......airbrushing is pretty easy I think......just practice with it and before long you will get the hang of it just like anything else

Hello.......thanks guys for the kind comments......I really do appreciate them........I got the other engine in.......and started on the drive train.......the trans is attached with chains and the engine are driven with belt drives.......I also attached part of the exhaust system that I made and painted Alclad and will finish that up tomorrow.......I modified a trans cooler from my parts box and painted Alclad.......I also made a power booster and will attach that tomorrow........thanks for looking

Hi Tim.......No,it`s not attached to the airbrush.......just the way I was holding it while I was taking the picture......it`s a round eyeball that I bought at Michaels Craft store......they come in different sizes......I drilled a small hole on the round end and glued a piece of wire to hold it while I airbrushed around the edge of the flat side that I layed onto the body........thanks Brother

Hello......thank you all so very much for the kind comments......I really do appreciate them......I made a oil tank and painted it Alclad and got that installed .......I made dual coils and plug boots.......and attached one of the engines to the body......I also made the footpegs and a horn and got them installed .......I modified a Trans and painted it Alclad and silver and gave it a light wash and added "Pro Tech" nut and bolt ends.......I will attach the other engine tomorrow and the drive train.......thanks for looking.

Hello......thank you all so very much for the kind comments and for the interest in this build.....I really do appreciate it.......Sorry I have`nt posted in a while.......I have been very busy working on and painting the body......it`s almost done.....I just need to wet sand and give one last clear coat.......I scratch built the body.......primered and puttied .......I gave a base coat of H.O.K. Shimmering Silver......I taped off the graphics for the H.O.K. Pagan gold......I painted the main portion of the body H.O.K. Kandy Apple Red.......then I taped off and painted the H.O.K. Pagan Gold.......then I taped off and airbrushed the graphics a couple of times with H.O.K. Black.......I clear coated in between colors ......then taped off one last time to fog around the edges with H.O.K. Black......... I`m just about ready to add the engines and drive train......thanks for looking
