Hello.......thanks guys for the kind interest in this build......it will be pretty special to me......I would like to do a good job on this one......might take a little longer just to get the details close.........I got a quick mock-up.......I`m staring with a box part swing arm frame and I will modify it into a rigid frame......and I will modify the Chevy Small Block into a 215 Buick ,well as close as I can get it ........it won`t be perfect but, close enough for the girls I go with......The front end is also a parts box find......I will need to shorten the front end.........thanks for looking

Helllo......I was going to start this build after GSL 2017 ......but, it`s a month away and I`m bored......so I am going to start it now......it is my Father and Unkle Mil`s Drag Bike that they built and raced in the 60`s at Lions Drag Strip .......it was called the "Italiano" and was powered by a 1963 Buick V8....... after they ran this bike for a few months ,my Father bought 2 Buick 215 Aluminum Block engines from Mickey Thompson who was racing INDY at the time and one of the engines was a back engine for the Indy car...... the "Italiano`s" top speed was 156 mph on gas that was pretty good back in those days........I built 3- 1/25 scale models of this bike years ago ......but,I am going to build this bike in 1/8 scale.......I will scratch build most of the bike and modify some parts as well.........thanks for looking

Hello.....thanks guys for helping me make my decision ......I will go with the Sparkly Blue -
Tim......WOW man......that is some thinking out of the box.......I think you may have nailed it with the diamond pattern look......that is way better than what I came up with......I think after painting it with some acrylic paint and some light weathering it will look like the real deal.......do you mind if I try your idea on my next project?

Hello......thank you all so very much for the kind comments......I really do appreciate them.......I read what the article said on this build and it stated that Pete cut 1/4 inch white and green strips of Naugahyde for the bed and tailgate...... while I was mocking up the stripes for the bed......something was wrong ,the strips did not match up in the bed......so I looked carefully at the pictures and 2 of the strips are a 1/16 of an inch wider at one end of the bed than the other strips......so thats what I did and it worked out better......I used white Naugahyde and airbrushed some of it green for the green strips......I got them all glued into the bed with Laski Scale Specialties. Com "Liquid Glass" glue........and attached the bed to the frame......I will add the door handles and headlight lenses tomorrow......and this build should be done......thanks for looking.
