  1. Besides the roof it looks great to me! Good job. Flip that roof to the down position and place it proudly in your display case. James
  2. This is the new issue Revell 70 Challenger. I custom mixed some cream and white lacquer and cleared it with Omni Urethane clear. The side stripe decals are from Fred Cady and the engine compartment decals are Last Detail ones. This is the first model that I have finished in a long time (I've started plenty). It was a fun "slump buster". James
  3. Glad to see that the NNL got you inspired to do some building. Keep posting pictures as you go Charlie. James
  4. Nice and clean. I like it! James
  5. I was wondering the same thing... I suppose they could be battery cables?
  6. My main focus for this build was to build a clean model with just a couple of aftermarket parts to spice it up a little. The body is painted with MCW Gold Metallic with a Urethane clear coat. The decals are from The Last Detail. James
  7. With the Mopar Nationals coming up in a week, I figured I should finish up my 74 Charger project to take to the model contest. This is the MPC Super Charger kit that I kitbashed with a AMT 71 Charger for the engine and chassis. The body is painted with MCW Sky Blue (code B1) with a Urethane clear coat. The decals are from Keith Marks. James
  8. The Last Detail Decals have a new owner. They are being distributed by an Australian company called "The Parts Box". They seem to ship for free on orders over $20. Their website is: http://www.thepartsbox.com/ Thanks for the kind words all, James
  9. This is my 67 Impala project that I have been working on. It is finished with MCW Gold metallic paint, Last Detail decals and a urethane clear coat. I painted the interior with Tamiya titanium gold metallic. Watch for this one on the contest tables later on this year. Comments are always welcome, James
  10. I finished this quickie build last week. It is the Lindberg 64 Plymouth Belvedere kit. I used plain ole' black lacquer on the body and finished it off with a urethane clear coat. The interior is Tamiya acrylic red with a little bit of black mixed in to darken it up a little bit. Comments are always welcome. James
  11. I would charge NO LESS than $100 for the body to be painted, decaled, cleared and polished. Just my .02. James
  12. Nice Model and photography Tom. It really makes it look real! James
  13. Yep, that was me. I bit off a little more than I could chew back then. I ended up breaking the body in half so I trashed it. When I get around to building a replica of my 1:1, I will open the doors and trunk on that one. James
  14. I finally decided to live up to my name and post some pictures of a recently finished MOPAR model. This is a 1974 Roadrunner built from the reissued AMT 74 GTX kit. I used the chassis, running gear and inner fenderwells from an AMT 71 Charger kit. The body decals (red printed over silver) are from Keith Marks, the interior decals are from my parts box. I painted the body with regular old black lacquer paint and cleared it with Omni 2 part urethane clear. I've had this model partially completed for years and it has been on the primer table at NNL East at least twice. I'm glad to finally call it done. Enough blabbing, here are the pictures: James "Moparbuilder" Tester
  15. Very Very Nicely done. I have been gathering the parts for years to build the same car. Mine will be black with a tan interior. James
  16. I finally finished my Porsche Carrera GT. I started this car after seeing Ramon Garcia's build at the Detroit contest last year. The body paint called Seal Grey Metallic is from Cobra Colors and is sealed with PPG automotive urathane clear. I used 4 sheets Scale Motorsport carbon fiber decals in three different scales on the chassis, engine compartment and interior. Most of it you can't even see unless you are really looking at it from odd angles. I also used Scale Motorsport's photoetched set on the build. Comments and criticisms are always welcome. James
  17. Didn't you mean to say: Comments are welcome UNLESS YOUR NAME IS JAMES TESTER ... LOL Your Dart came out nice for a Street machine but my factory stock tendencies are screaming "What did you do to that Dart?" at you. James
  18. I got a chance to do a little more work on the Charger this weekend. Nothing special about the interior. Just basic modeling. The colors are a custom mixed Tamiya acrylic grey and a custom mixed semi-flat black. The front end received some Tamiya grille mesh leftover from another project. The headlights look pretty cool IMHO. I went around the edges of the lenses with a black sharpie marker to eliminate the clear edge. The back end needed a little bit of work to get the lenses flush with the body. The backs of the chrome piece were sanded as much as they could be and then the edges where the lense attaches was also sanded down. I detailed the lenses and chrome piece with a sharpie marker to add interest. Lastly, (I know I will get comments on this part). I decided to stick with the stock wheels from the kit. I shot them with some Tamiya flat aluminum and added a wash where the bolts are. I will be lowering the stock suspension so I think they will look alright. As always, Comments are always welcome. James
  19. The badges are from Auto Dynamics. I don't think they are in business anymore though... Thanks for the comments guys. James
  20. Here are a few pictures of my work in process Porsche. I bought the Scale Motorsport CF templates and photoetched pieces for this build. I have most of the CF work done now and will be putting the future clear coat on it soon and then polishing it with "the detailer" model wax. Comments are always welcome. James Tester Here is everything I have done so far: The body is painted with Cobra Colors Seal Grey metallic basecoat with a PPG Urathane clear coat. I'll let the pictures do the talking...
  21. While painting my Porsche, I decided to shoot some paint on this Testors Dodge Charger. The color is Porsche Seal Grey metallic from Cobra Colors with a PPG Urathane clear coat. I thought that the car needed something different so I painted the grille body color and added some chrome transferred emblems from the parts box. These were meant for a 69 Charger, but I thought they looked better than the kit ones. Let the pictures do the talking... Comments are always welcome... James
  22. Bill, Thanks for taking us step-by-step on this build. I've often wondered how you do the hinging of doors and make them look so good. I found that for precise cutting of plastic nothing beats my photoetched saws from Crazy Modeler. That would have made the inner door panels cutting surgical. James
  23. Count me OUT on this one. Blasphemy I tell you... I love ma mopar way too much to like that. Sorry, James
  24. I was just wondering if any resin casters have made a shaker hood for the new Dodge Magnum or Charger yet? Thanks, James
  25. What is the difference between a bb512 and a bb512i? I looked at some pix online and did not see any difference... Thanks, James
