How Do I Widen Fenders
camaroman replied to vintagestang's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Patrick, I think the best way would be to try and find a second set of fenders. On one set cut a wide section. Cut the second set as a narrow section, maybe just less than a 1/4 of the width of the original and mate those back together to create your widen fenders. I don't know how close the kit parts are in size but the fenders used on the 1:1 55/57 Chevy Pickup are the same design as the sixties up until 1967. You might be able to find separate fenders from the AMT kits of the 55/57 stepsides that would eliminate have to remove the fender from the bedside, and they should be easier to find than the Revell fenders. -
Fireball 500 El Camino

David, I like where this is headed. I do have a question though. Is the roof going to have that radical rake to it as shown in the next to last stance side shot ? The reason I ask is this. A working side glass would be hard to do in "real life" because of the vent window frame having a reverse angle. Might need to eliminate the vent wings and go with a solid side glass, like some of the 1:1's do . That for sharing your work here!! -
Today is his birthday ... according to the stats he has not been around since January! What gives? I really enjoyed his posts of all of those fine Vettes and other builds ...

Also watch out for jerks on bikes that think just because their bike will FIT between you and the loaded semi next to you ,driving @ 70 mph, they should be able to pass you there ... Almost got us ALL killed ! True story and I was driving a van loaded with teenagers! What an idiot! Romell, Enjoy the bike, just be safe!

Revell 2012 Fall New Releases Announced
camaroman replied to TurboKitty's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Does that mean you don't want to see the Ranchero? And you may be right about the P/M info and it not being a great seller. Seems like the last one I bought was a clearance item @ Hobby Lobby. -
Another great job!!! Thanks for sharing these!

new guy saying hello

Welcome home, Hal... -
It looks great, but I could help but wonder how it would look on 20's and lowered... Different stroke I guess, but I love it!! BTW what shade of green is that? It appears to be the same color my Dad's '55 Chevy was for all of it's life until recently ... Sherwood Green!

I think many people don't like giving their birthday out of fear of Identity Thieves ... just another piece of the puzzle to keep private.

I kinda wonder why they have not reissued the '70 Torino kits. Nice kit, would look good on Cali wheels or better yet a modified reissued '70 Ranchero Special Edition !!! -

Actually Rob it was reissued just a few years ago with the same wheels/ lowered suspension that are in the current stepside offering. That is the kit that I am referring to being fairly hard to find. -
