  1. This same scenario happened to me recently. I PMed the guy advising that he needed to package better if he intended to trade with folks on the forum. This has also happened to me in another hobby, Case knife collecting. Really ticks me off when they sell you a "mint in mint box" knife, charge 6-8 bucks shipping and then ship it in a padded envelope to save shipping cost (for them) and keep the difference in the shipping charge. I Cannot tell you the number of idiots that do that and then are surprised when you file a complaint with ebay!

    32 Chevy

    beautiful!!!!
  3. Never though of epoxy to fill the engine hole ... Thanks for the tip! I am going to proceed with the swap for this one though!
  4. I wonder if Gregg has thought about Hobby Lobby as a place for the magazine? They have a few magazines that they stock there.
  5. Remington Razor!!! Just Kidding... Model Car Garage offer some mesh in photo etch!
  6. ATTENTION... Some of you guys that have stores with left overs! I am still looking for a good copy of last years (2011) contest issue... I will make it worth your while to send me a copy!
  7. It has bolt detail molded in the bell housing where it would be appropriate for a seperate bell housing... Thanks Guys! I am going to use the Flattie block (no hole) from the '49 kit every thing else from the '50. The detail is much better in that kit engine.
  8. I've been digging through the stash lately and ran across an orphan kit (no box). I decided to move it to the bench. It's the AMT 50 Ford Convertible. After finding a suitable restomod type car to replicate, I got a start on it today. It was not happy with the whole "Hole In the Engine" thing so I when back to the stash for a better engine. I was searching for a Revell Kit to pull the engine from when I found an opened AMT 49' Ford Club Coupe. Finally my question... What is the optional custom engine in the '49 kit supposed to be???
  9. Roger, that could be the case if you used the Clip from the 67 SS. The station wagons and El Camino's used a slightly shorter (door to Wheel opening) fender than the rest of the Chevelle lineup. If Revell's cars are true to scale that very well could have been your issue...
  10. Model, a very good one!!
  11. I always enjoyed his builds. I don't know if he ever posted here, but he was fairly prolific on the old SA forum before they screwed it up! Alway seem to build in a protouring type of style with trucks being a specialty. Just wanted to know if they is still around if anyone know them... Thanks for looking
  12. I will second the props on MAD distributors but I can not answer about the vacuum advance. I bought HEI style from him. Very fast service though!!
  13. Thanks. The stripe is great looking with the colors you used! Can wait to see more! I have about ten or twelve of these kits in the stash. I have yet to finish even one, although I have three painted and one near completion...
  14. Beautiful model. Did the tires and wheels come from the 67 Chevelle Cali Wheels kit? They look good on there.
  15. Nice work on a beautiful Petty Ride!
  16. Casey, I checked the Big John kit . It indeed had the cover for the scoop on the decal sheet as well...
  17. ...some of our local Ace hardware stores stock K&S metal stuff.
  18. I think Lee is right on with his statement. Moebius did the right thing with the Hudson and It appears to be a hit!! I have not started either one of mine yet but it sure looks like a great kit "dry built"! I would rather wait for a better kit!!!
  19. Joe, I suggested this a few days ago in another post and we had several posters that did not believe much would carryover. They are several interchanges in 1:1 land, but the way that the 64/65 kit was designed the chassis would have to be modified as the floor pan of the cab is different on the two series. The lowered suspension(s) could be reused. But I would prefer that the truck been a "New Tool", save the wheels which could be sourced from the Cali Wheels '64 Fleetside kit. For the best sales, I think that Revell should "all out" do Copperhead with the 572 and the fat Toyo Proxies ( and all the goodies) and then maybe add other options i.e. a great small block engine, fuel injection, turbos etc as time goes on to further sales. I bought several of the 32 Ford sedans for the engines and wheels and have yet to build a complete kit! I figure this would be the case with the Copperhead kit if done "right".
  20. A what if ... Revell sells a Boat Load (read many containers) of Rat Roasters to the masses (that's us), and they say "OK, what else can we do to loosen more dollars from their pockets?" I propose Stacey Davids "Copperhead" 1968 C-10 !!! http://staceydavid.c...49aa361a3_0.jpg A brand new "New Tool" offering for the masses! But Do it Right!!! Do All Goodies; The 572 engine, The Toyo Proxes tires (Wheels are already done 64/65 C-10) How many do you see selling for part box fodder with the right stuff being done right? Team up with Testors to do Copperhead Orange (and Rat Roaster Green) in ready to spray... What do you think???
  21. Can't wait to see it!! I should be know as C-10man instead of camaroman. I've owned nearly twenty '65-'72 C-10s in the last twenty five years, as opposed to one Camaro. I still have the Camaro ('67) and a 68 C-10...
  22. I thought the Big John Had that as well ... I will check later!!!
  23. Maybe so on every kit, But the worst model car part ever is the rear axle in the 66 Nova for the Rides Collection!!! It is like a drop down axle on a travel trailer or horse trailer...
