LADIES AND GENTLEMEN: Presenting: Finished Z06 *PICS*
cruz replied to ismaelg's topic in WIP: Model Cars
http://public.fotki.com/mamaprez/model_clu...2/dscn1448.html Here is another Vette from my collection, I think I will be putting that new Vette together soon, it is a nice model. -
http://public.fotki.com/mamaprez/model_clu...4/dscn2177.html Aside from the usual drag racing cars that we like in Puerto Rico this is one of the most popular in the island. Down there they will race anything from piston driven cars to the all popular rotary engines. I decided to use the chassis from the revell Berreta so I had to shorten the front to fit the tires and also a bit of roll cage reduction to get it in there, other than that it went pretty and surprisingly well. Hope you guys like it

Thanks Steve, I was browsing through your personal pictures and you do very good work, I loved that pickup you did. 8)

Hey Steve, nice to meet you. Actually that is not red but Hugger Orange from the new Testors Lacquers. For some reason the picture came out dark when they shot it.

http://public.fotki.com/mamaprez/model_clu...5/dscn6375.html I love the European models also, big fan of the Porsches bro 8) 8)

Is that the choice of tires and rims for this project? If yes, sweeeet! 8) 8)
-
Thanks Manny. Hey bill, it took a lot of fitting and testing to get this one done. Those rear tires and rims are from a Hot Rod Celica from I believe Hasegawa or Fujimi and the front rims are from a resin cast from Norm after I Alcladed them. A lot of other parts were also Alcladed, these kits are a nightmare with their crazy and full of mold lines chrome.

Just to let you know when I purchased the system it states that you should use the white base for pearls and the silver for candies. I don't usually use these paints from House of color but this is a line of paints that wal-mart was selling and I decided to use them. You make a lot of sense when you say that I have to make sure to use the right base but I used what the system reccomended. Like I said I am happy with the results, my big doubt is if anybody has used the same color and what did they come up with. Thanks for your concern man! 8)
-
Thanks Manny, I used their 3 step system which is the white base first followed by the base color which is Tangelo and Clear coat from the system. To tell you the truth I think that this is what Tangelo is suppose to be, something like a butterscoth look but I was talking with Billy Stillwagon which is one of the most awesome painters I have known and he told me that I might have grabbed a defective or wrong colored can. What do you or anybody else think? I mean, I am happy it came out like this because it is an unusual color but can anybody out there tell me if they have used this paint and Tangelo color?

http://public.fotki.com/mamaprez/model_clu...5/dscn6130.html Hey Boricua, seeing that you like Vettes as much as I do or more I hope you like this 67, I love them myself. Painted this one Rally red from a paint jobber around my way and used Odds and Ends clear, polished and waxed, hope you like it  -
http://public.fotki.com/mamaprez/model_clu...6/dscn4651.html Just love these Anglias. I painted this one Tangelo which is one of the colors from the wal-mart House of kolor paints. For some reason I thought the orange would be brighter, they tell me I got the wrong paint in the can!

Hey Bill, since I did that Anglia I am kind of in love with these Model King releases and the altered wheel base cars, I really wish they would release this Falcon the way they released the Trumpeter Nova, I love them  -
Of course pictures never do much justice, I am sure it looks hot. Never thought of doing something like that but I think it's a good idea. 8) 8)

SWEEEEEEEEEET! Love the Willys and of course the contrast of the flames and the black base is awesome, nice job. Are you using some sort of template held just above the surface? I would love to try that!
-

Who would you like to meet?
cruz replied to Gregg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Well guys, as for me when I was living in Puerto Rico from 91 to 96 I decided to get back in the hobby and started to collect my modelling magazines to use as reference and to get back into this hobby that I love so much. By 96 I decided to move to Maryland and never thought that by joining the MAMA club I would meet so much talent not including the Central PA club that I am also a member of. I had read all about these guys before I met them but to make my story short here is just a list of the great people and friends that I have met: Bill Geary, Larry Booth, Lyle Willits, the great Norm Veber, Dan Peterson, Terry Adams, Ron Hamilton, another idol of mine Harold Bradford, what a talent, Jeff Sauber, wow, and many others and what's great about this is that they are all in my club for me to enjoy and make fun of I am sorry that Larry Booth moved to Texas but I still see him at the shows often. I still would like to meet other people like Juha Airo and the mini "Foose" Jairius but I can say that I am very happy with the people that I have met over the last couple of years. I have more names but they know who they are..... -
Nice job man, I just finished my version of the Iowa Shaker and I love it. If you want to see pictures of it just go to mamaboyz.org and click on members albums on your left. Once there, click on the pictures by Lyle Willits on the monthly meetings and you will see it. Should be in our last sept. meeting......
