  1. I've never won any awards, so I'm not sure what all this competitive hubbub is all about....
  2. Thanks for the compliments everybody, I really appreciate it. I just wish I had more time this year to get the other stuff done. The Christine car took alot more time than I had anticipated. I'll be surprised if I can get the lincoln wrapped up before the month ends.
  3. Thanks Terry, yes by all means, your welcome to copy and save use any of the images you need. In terms of replica stock, the model is somewhat close, but the engine bay features a few touches that differs from a purely stock setup. Also from what I understand, the dash board is supposedly not the correct configuration or something to that effect....I'm not really sure but that's what I was told. It's the only dash that comes with the kit. This wasn't a really bad kit to work with, but it did need a little extra adjusting and massaging. I also had to bring the ride height down a bit, the kit's pre-set stance made it look like a 4 wheel drive...
  4. Thanks, Bob. Finishing 3 is actually pretty good for me. In the past, I was lucky to get one completed per year. If all goes well at the paint booth this week, I'm may be able to sneak in the lincoln before years's end..
  5. and last but not least, the 3 fellas that are running a bit behind schedule........
  6. Heres my list of what I managed to finish this year. I had hoped to get 2 more completed, but I may just have enough time before the year ends to get my '48 lincoln done and thats about it...The rest will likely have to carry over into 2010.
  7. Thanks Chuck.. It has been an "interesting" kit to work with, but it does seem to be shaping up into a decent shelf model.. I'm just having some fun seeing what I can do with this old beast..I had heard so many bad things about it, I figured I had to go and give it a try to see what all the hate was about...
  8. Come on man, was it really neccesary to bump this thread back to the top?...... It had been layed to rest yesterday and had already drifted down to the second page. Let it die already..........this sh*t is old news now......move along people, theres nothing left to see here.
  9. I see your having some fun throwing a little gas on the fire, eh Ken? Doesn't this sort of go against what you were trying to preach to me the other day, "Reverend"?
  10. That's a good question Tommy... The only name I can think of worthy of judging a contest like that, would be somebody like Gerald Wingrove or equivelent.
  11. What a bunch of bolonga!!...........
  12. Thats well spoken Bob, I think you mention some good points. Hopefully you won't get attacked by speaking your thoughts here.....otherwise you may need one of these.
  13. Wow, over 1500 views and over 70 responses, and this thread is only 3 days old!!.....I think your right Dave, this verbal sparring does seem to be providing some good entertainment... See, people really do love to watch a little mayhem. The numbers don't lie. Some claim they hate drama, yet here they are, checking in every hour to see how the matchups are progressing and/or deteriorating. "Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends... We're so glad you could attend, come inside! come inside! Be careful as you pass, move along! move along!" This has been fun fellas, but I really need to get that little 48 lincoln wrapped up, considering I'm off for the next 2 days and will have some time at the bench... G'day, folks....
  14. Well said Dave, but I didn't start this verbal attack, "Mr. T" is the one with the rabies case.
  15. Your a gum flapper Dave....You ain't screwing with anybody, toughguy... Your bascially just having a tantrum and not contribituting anything to the topic. Harry or Gregg will likely just shut it down....
  16. Well Mr. Davey boy, If you think I'm such a waste of time, why the hell are you still burning up your free hours talking a bunch of smack here on my thread? Why don't you take your own advice and go build something.....and please finish washing the sand out of your vag...
  17. Does this mean you won't be thinking of me at Christmas time? Seriously man, go play with your matches and gasoline can on somebody elses thread....Your the one creating issues and hostility here. You come on to my thread crying up a storm and taking a few personal pot shots at me and you expect me not to respond? Get lost troll, beat it.
  18. I'm not sure why it was cancelled, but I heard that the "Invite only" was creating alot of problems as well as a few of the other rules. Alot of folks just weren't too happy about a restricted participants list....I saw that list several times and alot of the names on that list are very good builders, but I'd hardly call some of them "the best in the world". I also noticed alot of really great builders who weren't mentioned on the list who should have been if they were really serious about inviting "the best out there". I dunno, we already have the International GSL shows which pretty much represent the highest level of model competition, so I'm not sure that trying to add another high end contest is going to do very much for the hobby, other than to stroke a few egos.
  19. Yeah it is interesting to note, "Dave T" was pretty quick to withdraw his attack against me....Oh well, I'm glad I quoted it so everyone here could see him foaming at the mouth and thumping his chest without provocation. This whole thread was supposed to have a lighthearted theme, [hence the "thin skin disclaimer warnings"], but once again, some delicate folks end up getting bruised and battered like a bunch of lightweights.. Bob even sarcastically calls himself a "hack", yet when I joke around and do the same, I'm the one who ends up getting bit by a rabid forum user........Go figure Hell, at least I'm getting folks talking about the hobby and different approaches to building.......Yeah, whatever, I'm such a Bad A$$ for for actually starting a topic relevent to the hobby......SHEEESH!! Is this forum great or what? you can get some entertainment and some nice modeling tips all in the same thread!!
  20. Those are good points you bring up. It does pay to follow the instructional sequence at times. In the past, I've tried to assemble a few interiors first, only to find that certain parts needed to be attached after the body had been mounted.....Whoops.. I guess those instructional sheets really do serve a purpose. *THIN SKIN DISCLAIMER*.....DON'T TAKE THIS THREAD TOO SERIOUSLY.
