  7. I agree that HOk & other lacquer colours are attractive & the choice is mind boggling. The down side is price verses enamels which seem to be available every where,Wal-Mart hardware store etc.etc.The dry time of enamels is a real turn off & a dehydrator is a whole new can of worms.
  8. I have a decision to make & was wondering if any one has built one of these kits. This will be my third project (first of the new year).I will be following the golden rule , KISS. Any thoughts ? Whats your first kit for twenty ten going to be?

  16. Well after lurking & reading on this site for a time I decided to try my hand @ building a plastic model. This is my second attempt, the first one got it's little self put back in the box. I choose this 32 Ford roadster Revell model because I thought that it was just too cool. Thanks to all who share their expertise on this site in order to help beginners like myself. I built this kit straight out of the box except for the tires & rims which came from an AMT Vicky kit that I bought just for the wheels. Any constructive criticism would be appreciated. See 3rd post for pic. I went a little brain dead. Thanks in advance. Gary Thomason

  19. I to got a paasche H air brush for Christmas. I bought a Porter Cable air compressor with a six gallon storage tank & built in air regulator.I installed a water in line filter & attached my air hose ,And away I went .I adjusted the air pressure to thirty pounds & airbrushed my 32 Ford roaster with Krylon fusion red that I decanted. The compressor never cut on once. This set up is a vast improvement over my previous set up.Happy dog here in the low country.I brought my air compressor from Lowes for $164.00& the in line water filter for $12.00.Gary Thomason
  20. I`m new to this hobby but have been lurking for sometime now in this forum. I've gotten a few kits & I`m just working out of the box for now. This forum is interesting & full of great how to info. I have read about resin kits or parts on how to clean glue paint &/or putty them, but why buy a resin body when one is supplied with the kit? It seems that in order to buy a resin body one has to buy a donor kit. Also the info in regards to the resin body is not supplied or info is limited. Is there a book on resins? You know info on how to cross reference on doner kits ect. exist? Thanks in advance Gary Thomason
  21. I got it .Any way to get rid of it or should I just send it to the stripper?I used two types of Dupli color primers white & grey .I used the three coat approach light.medium & heavy, sanded & spray the dupli color brilliant black& added a lacquer clear. Can I polish or sand the orange peel out?Where to go from here?
  22. Say Bill, what &where are the sink marks that smart-resins noted?
